Thanks for the information. Good to know someone who owns both Ford Focus and Peugeot 508 Turbo S. I am not surprised that you find the vehicle to be more responsive with sudden acceleration from stationary or at any speeds. The Peugeot 508's torque at 240Nm is much higher than the Focus 202Nm due to the Turbocharged engine. In this respect I would believe the acceleration of the Focus will not match that the 508 Turbo. As to the higher horsepower in the Focus, I suspect the advantage is the engine has more capacity to achieve higher speeds when the vehicle is cruising at highway speeds in the excess of 110km/h, in other words less strain on the engine when trying to achieve top speed.
The interesting bit of the Peugeot 508 Turbo S is the 240Nm torque can be achieved at a low rpm of 1400 which is definitely impressive. Usually the maximum torque comes in at higher rpm but it's a different story with the 508 Turbo S. The published 0-100km/h acceleration of the 508 at 9.2s may be conservative for that kind of available torque though that can be attributed to the heavier weight of the car itself.
Torque comes in at different range due to the ecu mapping that they have, coupled with a turbo.
suprima/preve torque comes in at 205nm @ 2-4k RPM BMW 118i comes with 250 Nm @ 1,500-4,500 rpm
It's a norm for turbocharged cars to achieve max torque at lower powerband.
That's good news indeed - I take Trio Mantap has already been given the latest transmission calibration update that everyone's been waiting for. I was there 2 saturdays ago and spoke to Lau - he mentioned the update (stable) wasn't available yet back then.
Did ambank really took out Focus and Kuga from their Ford year end low interest promo? I was informed by the officer that they only have low interest for Fiesta
I guess that would be the case. Pay full premium first and transfer the NCD later upon my next entitlement. By the way loan approved and now waiting for registration number. Eagerly waiting to drive my new focus next week.
No need.
inform your SA that you want to transfer NCD over to the focus. inform your insurance agent you want to do so. all you have to do is to fill up a form on remove your NCD. you will get a letter informing you that it is done. Top up your current car's insurance back to 100% Pass that letter as a proof to your SA. pay your remaining dp and get your car

would like to know when your focus went over uneven roads, does the suspension sound transfer to the cabin? i know it should be soft thud but somehow it's quite a loud thak thak/thud sound
