Just my half pass six knowledge: (3 months) and if i am not wrong :
1) nope, only support CD,MP3, CDRW and etc...
2) There is a after market HU  system(5' and touchscreen) around RM3k which i think support DVD. But your warranty will be gone.
3) 1 woofer on the dashboard above the HU unit. 4 mid speakers and 4 tweeters.
4) as above.

The sound system is ok for mp3, but the radio is not up to par..

Good choice.....goes to show that you can never judge a person on their appearance. Serves them right. I was also contemplating between the Elantra, Mazda3 and Ford. The test drive blew me away and my choice was obvious.

If you read up forums and youtubes on the Ford Sync, you will realize that there are some inconsistencies and bugs with it. Search this user on youtube called "mercmilan". He has a comprehensive cover up on all aspects of his more than a year old car. There is a reason y they omitted the Ford Sync for the international market. Even Europe is using the small 4.2 in screen like ours.

I guess you can get some aftermarket rear camera installed if you want to.

I think you meant MyFord Touch. All Focus models come with Ford Sync.

Firstly, congrats on your new ride. I'm sure it will bring you countless hours of joy (and maybe a few of heartbreak) as it has me.

For the floor mats, what I did was hack a few "coil mats" which I bought from a local carpet shop. Got 3 small mats at RM15 each and one big one for the driver's for RM30. Looks pretty neat, but corners won't stay where I want them to, so will further hack on some velcro.... should work. Of course, these are nothing in quality compared to those custom jobs that cost RM200 and possibly more.

FC now at 1K km is 12.11 litres/100km overall... is was steadily getting better to 10.5 but the last three days I was basically sitting in a parking lot for 2 hours a day, so now we are back to crappy numbers.

Just to confirm these functions also work on the non-Plus versions (except of course there is no sunroof to open/close).

Does anyone know how to switch on/off the ambient lighting, other than through the menu on the instrument panel?

Finally got my Candy Red last Saturday. Enjoying the ride very much and the car is so beautiful. Satisfaction level is Perfect.

You can manually turn on the Follow-Me Home Lights.

Just pull the stalk towards you after the engine is switched off.

Anyway, I think I figured out what happened...there's a setting for Auto lighting right next to the Ambient lighting setting on the instrument panel menu. With it on, the Ambient lighting does not come on in the morning, but comes on once it's dark  (dunno where the sensor is).

Thanks for the information. Good to know someone who owns both Ford Focus and Peugeot 508 Turbo S. I am not surprised that you find the vehicle to be more responsive with sudden acceleration from stationary or at any speeds. The Peugeot 508's torque at 240Nm is much higher than the Focus 202Nm due to the Turbocharged engine. In this respect I would believe the acceleration of the Focus will not match that the 508 Turbo. As to the higher horsepower in the Focus, I suspect the advantage is the engine has more capacity to achieve higher speeds when the vehicle is cruising at highway speeds in the excess of 110km/h, in other words less strain on the engine when trying to achieve top speed.

The interesting bit of the Peugeot 508 Turbo S is the 240Nm torque can be achieved at a low rpm of 1400 which is definitely impressive. Usually the maximum torque comes in at higher rpm but it's a different story with the 508 Turbo S. The published 0-100km/h acceleration of the 508 at 9.2s may be conservative for that kind of available torque though that can be attributed to the heavier weight of the car itself.

Just completed my sport+ software upgrade this morning at Trio Mantap Taman Kenchana. Hopefully all the juddering and grinding will go away permanently. Currently now at 14K++ mileage.
