Hi all bros, I am wondering if there is a free 1000km check up the new Focus? When is the first time you guys send your car to Ford service center?

Just got my FoFo before CNY. Go to work always jam, mileage at 700km, average speed only 22km/h, fuel consumption at around 11.3 l/h, reset at each refill. Anyone has any stats to share?
*
i dont think there will be a free 1000km free check up as the schedule is at 10k.....it will be considered as unschedule service and it will be charge on the service. correct me if im wrong......

If youre referring to fofo mk3, 700km/tank for mixed city and highway drive is possible.

Automative magazine Autocar Malaysia december 2012 issue achived 836km/tank in thier local test drive.

The tank is 55liter btw

My firs tank i manage to get 600++ and( with mix cty and hiway) for the 2nd time only manage to hit 500 but this time its 90% on city driving.....atm my car clocked almosy 1k mileage...have to whether it will improve over time or not.... sweat.gif

How much is the charge for unschedule service? is it there is a warranty? As this issue is already being normal, Ford should bear the responsible and not to charge...
*
What i've been told by their service manager...there's no need to go for a service after 1k mileage...if u insist to change the eo, of course they will charge u...however they did check my car after 1k mileage for free wink.gif...its just normal checking without any oil replacement...i got the car from trio mantap btw wink.gif it will cost u 300++ i guess if u wanna change the oe

Greetings!

If all goes well, I'll be trading in my 5-year-old Toyota Vios S spec with a Ford Focus this coming Friday.

Question is: Sedan or Hatchback?

Personally, I love sedans and hatches are not my kind. However, from what I realised (I test drove both the sedan and hatch):

- The Titanium+ interior colour is beige full leather (I don't like the beige colour, and this is a very big factor for me)
- The Sport+ interior is black semi-leather (I love the black, but I prefer full leather)

- The Titanium+ comes with auto-adjusting seat for the driver.
- The Sport+ comes with manual adjusting seat for the driver.

- The Titanium+ comes with a blind-spot assist
- The Sport+ doesn't have that

- The Titanium+ only has 16" rims
- The Sport+ is fitted with 17" rims

- The interior space of the Sport+ feels bigger than the Titanium+ (could it be the bigger boot space allocated for the Titanium+?)

Anything else I missed out?

As much as I love sedans, I'm leaning slightly towards the Sport+ sole due to the interior colour. Can I confirm with you guys that the Titanium+ only comes with beige interior?
*
IMO there are no difference btw hb and sedan interm of interior space....the rear seat almost the same (sedan looks more spacious inside bcos of color (baige)...but for the rear bonet, of course the sedan more spacious ...my 2 cents thumbup.gif

Hey guys.

I believe most of you are owners of the Focus. Anyway, are there any major problems you are experiencing with the car? Or any problems with SDAC's service quality?

I went on the Ford Focus Malaysia FB page and it seems like there are loads of complaints (more about SDAC's service rather than the car itself).

My family owns a 10-year-old Ford Focus, but we send it to a 3rd party Ford specialist for servicing so I'm not too sure about SDAC.

Any advise? Any major problems with the car (other than the jerking issue which will apparently go away after xxxxkm)?
*
As for my car....no major problems other than jerking, but sometimes i can hear strange sound when the gear wanna shift...especially on low gear 1...donno whether its normal or not...gonna check with the SC soon.....

QUOTE(alvinyap38 @ Mar 5 2013, 10:02 AM)
Oic...which service branch you go to? Without any appointment and just verify to sak them to just check the car? is trio mantap located at jalan ipoh?
*
Trio mantap located at Jalan Ampang and also the other showroom located at tmn midah...its my SA who promise me he will arrange the free checking for the 1st 1k milage......so i believe u need to arrange the appointment first before u go for the checking wink.gif

That's a good discount. I was given RM1500 discount for my Sport+.

Was driving with the music off yesterday and there was some sound that seems to be coming from the undercarriage towards the front at low speeds i.e. <50km/hr. The 'krak krak' sound is makes sounds like like when you have a loose fender rubbing against your tires. Is this one of the 'common' sounds associated with the dual clutch?
*
i have that kinda sound too...but its more to rattling sound when driving on the uneven road its near the driver area. its not too loud as the co driver wont hear it at all. gonna check with the SC once the car reached the milage. smile.gif

Received my Midnight Sky Sport+ yesterday. The amount of tech in that car is mindblowing. Every few minutes I discover small little features that put a smile on my face.

No problems discovered so far. Going for 3M tinting later!

Congrats Bro, hoping that you will enjoy ur ride rclxms.gif

The moment you close your door, you can touch the handle sensor immediately and it will lock. What's with the 3 seconds you're talking about?
*
It happened to me too..i have to touch several times (more than 3sec i guess) to lock the car but i seldom use it though, always use the car remote.

Proton persona...im not saying proton better to own instead of this FOFO, im just comparing the abnormal noise(rattling) quality...
*
Agreed with you bro...although the rattling sound can be considered as minor (in my case) however i do expect more when i spent > 100k for a car

QUOTE(lowkl @ Jun 11 2013, 11:58 PM)
I got two promos from either Groupon or another discount coupon site (can't remember which).. the deals were similar. The first one refunded the purchase because they said the response was overwhelming.... so can't tell you if that would have been good or not. The second one did as advertised, but the quality was only so-so. In fact, when I got back I noticed they had actually slightly scratched my car in two places with their polisher (!).

This time round when I get my Fofo (the waiting's killing me!) it will go to a car wash I have been using for the last few weeks.... the workers there seem to do their job carefully. After discount, it should be RM80 (wash, clay, wax x 2, sealant).

Do you really need to have your new car polished after 6k? Shouldn't a good wax job be sufficient?
*
There are some scratches at the front is it by waxing enuf to remove the scratches?

QUOTE(xiaoshun @ Jun 12 2013, 12:25 AM)
is there any difference in terms of handling for the sedan and hatchback since the hatch has a sport tuned?
*
AFAIK the suspension for hb and sedan are different....
For hb the suspension as a bit hard. There will be a difference for sure..correct me if im wrong smile.gif
