Hi Guys! Here's a question about the alternator:

For Saga BLM, what is the rating for the alternator?

Any larger ones that can fit into the engine bay without (or at least with mininmal) modifications? =D

And last but not least, where to buy the alternator and install it? =D

already did that.
not much change.

U wan FC? =D do the following and you should see some improvement:

-Change the air filter EVERY 5000km (Ya, the RM16.80 one)
-Aircond thermostat to warmest, fan can be 2 or 3 lah of course (that helps FC to some extent, but best if off =D)
-use shell fuel save 95 =D

My best FC wit the following conditions, using RM10 Shell Fuelsave 95:

-110km range with no aircond, max coasting and traffic light anticipation; (50/50 city/highway)

-80km range with aircond on (thermostat to warmest), max coasting and traffic light anticipation; (50/50 city/highway)

-60km range with aircond on (thermostat to MIDDLE), traffic light anticipation only; (100% city)

-40km range with with aircond on (thermostat to warmest), pedal to the metal (aka 170km/H) for 15 minutes, (100% highway)

That about sums up my car; Saga BLM, 0w30 Fully synth, 195/50 R15 Michelin PS3, 230kpa Front/210kpa Rear cold tyre press.

Since u said FC is bad, then what's is ur FC anyway? How many KM's travel per amount?

Aircond will have big influence of FC if u trap in traffic jam, becos when ur car is stationary, condenser only cooled down by fan, so the heat can't dissipated effectively, which will make the compressor to turn ON more frequently. Furthermore, when in idle RPM, ECU will supply more fuel when compressor turn ON to keep the engine RPM stable.

Agree.

for serious?  shocking.gif
how u do that?

20km/liter is very much doable, achieved that before, but not under normal driving circumstances lah =D

Need to be EXTREME frugal, coast A LOT, and anticipate traffic and traffic lights A LOT!

Dun bother 20km/liter lah =D IMHO around 60km - 70km for RM10 of shell fuel save 95 (around 10 to 12km/liter) is pretty good already.

if your range is less, then either it's your right foot (you accelerate too hard), your aircond thermostat ALWAYS turn to max, or you dun regularly service your car.

Hi Guys! Just found out the saga BLM's original alternator is rated at 90 Amps!!

SWEET!

Haha, like that upgrade ICE to 900Wrms total consumption should be piece of cake =D
