Btw guys, if possible please buy the game from GOG instead to support the devs 100%.

Regardless of what platform was used to distribute the game, I'm sure some of the proceeds will have an agreed distribution ratio between the platform (Steam, GoG, etc.), publisher and developer depending on the agreement among each other, with the exception of EA's Origin and Ubisoft's Ubi Store. Therefore, I don't wholly believe any platform will just sell a video game where the proceeds go to both the publisher and developer while the former gets nothing.

At the end of the day, different people have different interests and preferences in video games. If you like it, buy it. If not, just move on to the next one.

Just so you know, GOG is fully owned by CDPR and who developed Cyberbunk 2077? CDPR. Well in a sense, you can say they are in different "department".

Yes, I'm aware of that, but I'm pointing out the hosting of games from other publishers and/or game developers.

But I agree that since GoG is set up by CDPR, then yes, by all means, purchase the game from there if you want to do that.

I'd still buy this game, but probably at a later date when I plan to upgrade my PC.

Thanks, but I'm aiming at around the RTX 3070 or 3080 line of cards. laugh.gif

But no hurry to buy one atm. Waiting for the right time and price drops to upgrade my PC in the future once I move to a new house in 2 years time.

To be fair to CD Projekt, when the Witcher games were first released, they were also plagued by gameplay and technical bugs/glitches but were eventually fixed by many rounds of patches.

I'll probably get this game in a year's time when it is patched to a more stable version (and after prices dropped considerably).

That's very wrong, it wasn't riddled with bugs from the start, maybe you just never played it at launch and just assuming it. There is bugs but nowhere as much as Cyberpunk. The reason why soo many are complaining about it is because it wasn't as polished at launch compared to Witcher 3. The only issue the Witcher 3 had for the most part of launch is the loading times, which was shorten in like after 2 updates or so.

If it was as polished like the Witcher 3, no one would even be complaining right now. There are a lot of CDPR fans out there, and a lot are just plain outright defending the company as if they are the only good devs out there, and there is the other faction which lost faith with them because how trashy the console version was released.
*
And what's wrong with playing games weeks/months after launch?

I'm no CDPR apologist, but their past record speaks for itself and the support they give to their games, from the original Witcher up till Witcher 3. That's why people respect them for that. For Witcher 3's case, I did read in forums such as GameBanshee where people encountered some technical glitches and certain quest-breaking bugs which occurred for players who played the game on launch day itself. There was even a bug where after more than 200MB of saves, the game loading slows down tremendously. A lot of these bugs were eventually fixed by CDPR.

All I'm saying is that I'll wait until a later date to play this game when the dust settles and patches to fix critical issues and polish up the game are already present as I know from past experience that games on launch-day tend to have bugs and it takes a while to fix them. Even Crysis 3 also had weird technical issues like ropes causing performance drops on launch-day itself, and that is a straight-up FPS.

Bugs are one thing, but have you seen how unplayable the game is on the console?  laugh.gif

Funny thing is that it was developed for current gen first, then dunno what cdpr was smoking until ship out a broken game  hmm.gif

Removed youtube link to reduce post size.

Pity, given the state of the game I've been reading so far. Hence the reason why I'm not buying it until much later (and also after upgrading my rig). Gonna go catch up on some backlog of games in the meantime until the game is patched to a better state. tongue.gif

Haha now this is hotter than coffee mod of san andreas laugh.gif rclxub.gif

I guess i count my blessings not 2 preorder as early as 1.5 years ago

Between a court case (and fines plus being put in the spotlight) vs player backlash over the game's rough state, I'd rather take the latter than the former. At least it is still manageable.

Already stuck to the rule to wait until a few months to a year before purchasing a blockbuster (AAA) game when prices have dropped and most of the patches are already in place.

Game is obviously more immersive now than it was at launch

This is why we don't preorder lol, good things happen to people who wait

Hope they implement a proper police chase system and ability to rob stores or banks

Great to hear that. Plan to buy the game soon, but atm, need to settle the specs for a new rig first after being out of the loop with gaming in general for almost 2 years thanks to Covid and the subsequent lockdowns which drove hardware prices up.

Managed to get the rig just last week with an ASUS TUF Gaming RTX 3080. thumbup.gif

But I haven't bought it yet as I'm waiting on the price drop for the GoG version instead of Steam. Plus I'm catching up on other titles such as Days Gone, Red Dead Redemption 2, the Mafia Definitive series, etc., so going to be pretty occupied for a while (aside from work and family).

As for that 9800GT, wow, that's earlier than my rig. Mine was a GTX 970 which I got along with it back in 2014. It did serve me for 8 years where the last two were due to Covid and at that time and I wasn't impressed with the first-gen RTX 2-series card performance. Still managed to work on recent titles such as Modern Warfare and Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, but had to dial down a lot of settings in order for them to be playable. But yeah, what a great journey it has been.
