Probably most MPV owner are uncle and family man which don't chat in forum much. :-)
anyway, i am new owner of this boxy MPV.
1st impression driving, not too bad.
just done my 1st 1000 service which is free.
overall, boleh tahan la, fuel consumption is pretty impressive . full tank from KL - JB - KL = 700+ km. When refuelling time, cost me 90 bucks. +- 12-13cents per km. is this good? not a really fast drive but cruising at 120-140km along PLUS.

other members feedback welcome.
do feel free to ask any question if you want. cheers guys.

Hi Cliff,

I got mine last week and its Pearl White in color.
Not too sure what other buyers get but my salesman did arrange me Free tinted,Carpet, Full Tank and also
No Plate. ( Crystal type ) icon_rolleyes.gif
So far, just 1000km done, mostly on PLUS, have not really go on city driving yet but i suppose its not going to take long before i share again.

Are you driving MPV as well Cliff?
Own an 05 accord 2.0 previously and to compare with MPV ( not a fair comparison ), i can say i was trill to have such a reading on my meter :-) - ( at least exceed expectation) icon_rolleyes.gif

Cheers and have a good day guys and gals.

i am just wondering is the serena would be more comfortable than the Estima.

looking at it i believe the comfort level on the estima probably is no doubt. but because it is a used MPV the price is kind of expensive. But thats the very few choices that we can get.

As for the serena, the boxy shape is really a put off but that really translate a more space interior. For the estima it feels a bit more cramp. But estima second row seat is more comfortable compare to serena. well i am also waiting here. so those who own the serena can comment more on your MPV ergonomics and fuel consumption.
*
Sonyman,

Never tested Estima as a driver but ride wise, pretty much the same as passenger as far as i am concern.
As for looks, Estima surely looks more sporty compare to Serena.

You are right to mention as far as price is concern, with RM150k, its very difficult to get a decent 2.0l MPV.
Not many choices and if i get it correctly, only Toyota Innova is in the same list, otherwise, it will all go down to recon which may be 4-6 years old. I am not very convince that all these recon car are in good condition esp when reading the forum. blush.gif

So far, i am enjoying the ride, the kids love it too. Its better than my previous Trajet which is a guzzler tongue.gif

I am driving year 2006 E200k, Nissan Serena is for my wife fetch kids to school and weekend car with my parent, went to test drive last weekend, kids like it, but I feel aircond not as cold as expected, 4 adults and 3kids, can feel lack of power, how about u? Satisfy with the performance ?
Sales man give u free tinted? It zit VKool Elite? How about cash rebate? Most of the branch give RM500 discount, or they give u higher trade in price? R u booked the car since last month?

Waiting u news for the FC in city drive  wink.gif  wink.gif  wink.gif

Hi Cliff,

A/con is ok when its in driving mode however if one stop the car, thats where the Smart Hybrid kick in. Engine will be running on battert and a/con become KIPAS biggrin.gif . Thats what i was told by the SA.

My tinted is not VKool, its lower range, ECO TINT. ( Free mah , how to get VKOOL ?) blush.gif
I got a cash rebate of 500 bucks hence the total bill is 149k instead of 149,500k. Free GPS, Reverse sensor camera which TC claims is RM 3300.

I didnt trade in my car, it was sold much earlier.I waited almost close to a month for the car.

Will update on town driving to you guys soon. By the way,its still new engines, got to wait for the new engine to get kick in ( is that the right terms? ) then only its fair to share. biggrin.gif

Very good. Do tell more. How's your experience with idling stop system and eco mode? [COLOR=blue] i find that its good and very responsive. idling stop the a/c, only felt air.. but thats ok la.

have you tried the hill assist?
[B]so far no, climbing up small hill only he he he. waiting and looking for reason to go genting or cameroon but housminister say no, kids say, dont want....eish.... brows.gif brows.gif

What about overtaking on the highway? i dont have any problem overtaking, there is a sport mode near the gear nob. pretty satisfied for a big van, of course i am not comparing with those sedan car.

are you planning to get one wjrider ? go test drive, first hand experience is the best than words from others.

mr sianglee, i notice u start hammering this serena and TC even before it was launch!! why u hate TC this much??!?
no offence, I just wondering only biggrin.gif
*
simple analogy here and please vare with me...anyone have a better example are free to share.

some people like to tim sum
some like roti cani
some like nasi lemak.

question.. can we say people who eat roti canai not so smart because its make from flour and its cheap? or
its right to say people who eat time sum is dumb as 3.80 - 4.50 per set is way too expensive as you can make your more of your own tim sum with the amount of money?

to these people who are very price sensitive, its always best for them to prepare thier own food or make thier own car, there is nothing in the world which can satisfied their want and needs. smile.gif .

P/s: people who drive 1940's car and use PLUS highway, do they need to pay toll?
another person who ride a harley using same highway, do they pay toll? biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

In any industries, there is always bad apples as what JazzSerena mentioned.
Just bring out your grievances to the right person and i believe it can be solve, very rarely it will be ignore if you think what you were doing is right.

Mr.barrywcb, just want to know how is the fuel consumption? Another question, can u bring the car door remote down when the car is running?
*

Hi Frank,

Fuel consumption looks good so far based on my JB trip.
So far, i have pumped another few times but never really reset and calculate it.. blush.gif
I want to leave it for at least another couple 2-3k km as advise from my fren to be more accurate.
New engine need some km's to have a "run in". ( i still dont get the terms vmad.gif )

As for Remote down, can i assume you are asking that while driving, can i open my sliding door? I never try that but i did remember asking the SA and he mentioned that it cant be done while engine is running. ( come to think of it, i should try later LOLz)

You order and waiting for your new ride Frank?

Hi Frank / wjrider,

Hope this info is useful for your reference.

Mileages done so far = 1861 km.
Petrol = RM82.00 ( estimate combination of H/Way 40% / town driving 60% )
Mileages = 538
Est Per KM = +/- 0.15

I think is better than my previous H/ Accord. nod.gif

P/s: tried driving and open back door at the same time, didnt work ( i suppose it should be that way, a little jakun attempting to open it for safety purposes blush.gif ) lolz.

hi! barrywcb kor, thanks for "reporting" fuel consumption and it is really useful information for the potential buyers smile.gif

May I know on the Iddling Stop thing. The engine will idle upon the car stop and the aircond somewhat will be blowing the air only right? May I know if this can be overwrite? ie. normal aircond blowing? CAN BE DONE, THERE IS A ECO SWITCH.

I have been hearing conflicting answers from 2 different SA so confusing la.
TEST DRIVE IS THE BEST OPTIONS.

Bewteen, I booked a white liao and the delivery time is 2 1/2 months. long wait..... [cool.gif NO CHICE LOH, HAVE IT OR NOT, YOU WILL ALREADY GET IT RIGHT? LOLZ. biggrin.gif  rclxms.gif

I ENJOY MY RIDE  SO FAR , NO COMPLAIN EXCEPT FOR PARKING. TOO BIG AND I AM STAYING AT COMPARTMENT HENCE PARKING LOT IS A LITTLE TOO SMALL. vmad.gif

Dear future Serena owners,

Was away on outstation trip with friends yesterday and he commented that the car were pretty good for the price, seat, comfort, looks, ride etc etcetc .
Only setback base on his experience were a little bumpy during our ride and a little noisy. ( never really experience this as 100% of the time, i am the driver and as for noise wise, i was travelling at 140km tongue.gif .

Question - any of you owners wanna to share your feedback and experiences?

p/s:this fren of mind drive peogeot 508 and VW Toureg, dunno if he is comparing to his car... biggrin.gif

Does anyone know where to get the door airpress cheaper than getting from Tan Chong?

could some of the lucky owners who had receive the car let us know how the carpeting is like?  Maybe take some pix.
*
Jazzserena,

Carpet is just like the original, just get the accessories guys to do it for you if you want to add in your Serena. small matter and need not to worry abt it. :-)

Hi Barry:
Last known from the SA (last Wed), the order has hit 1700+ car. Surprisingly, the car is well received. Just that had yet to see many on the road.
*
wondercar,

are you kidding me? less than a month and TC is selling Serena like hot karipuff? gosh... that could be the reason why some SA is being a little arrogant or not trustworthy like what some of forum members feedback.

anyway, i am still enjoying my ride so far. i just discover Serena horn is a little let down for his size. horn sound like ah kua..... eish. mad.gif need to change the horn already, not macho at all. biggrin.gif
