I thought no excise tax and import tax for hybrid (<2L) and franchised AP at near 0 cost (no?) and open AP @rm10k.

Even if it is a better buy compared to the non-hybrid MPV (this is a problem of no competition) just can't stand a company that take advantage of the tax exemption but didn't pass down the benefits to the consumers.

Come to think of it, if every car companies brings in only hybrids and not paying excise and import taxes (as what PR first mooted) then used car industries will also be in deep sh*t. |

Read from PaulTan that this is only a simple-Hybrid.
May be that's why the price diff in Japan btw S-Hybrid and non-Hybrid is only about 10% becos not much of advancement in tech. If non-Hybrid is selling in Langkawi at rm88k, then s-hybrid should be about rm97k. So hopefully(my dream will be realised, hahaha) S-hybrid would be priced around rm100k. At this price point all other MPV sales would halt immediately. This post has been edited by MGM: Jul 15 2013, 05:20 PM |

QUOTE(sianglee @ Jul 15 2013, 05:22 PM) Who has already set the price? Would like to have a look.Nissan Malaysia official websites has the prices of all their models EXCEPT S-hybrid. Previously CRV2.4 was also set at rm190k in one of the car sales website, turn out the final price is rm169k. Goodnight, I am going back to my dream |

QUOTE(sianglee @ Jul 16 2013, 08:59 AM) Simple, to know the price, bring any check book to TCM showroom, showing you are very confirm to get one. Then the SA will tell lots of their info. So you have given them your check and that's why you know the price has been set at rm149k?I am not an expert but from what I read, technolgy and cost wise PRIUS > JazzHybrid > Serena S-Hybrid and if price diff btw JazzHybrid and JazzPetrol is less than 10%, Serena S-Hybrid which uses a simple additional battery should be priced cheaper than at RM149K (compare to Serena @RM97K a diff of 53%), both prices after tax exemption. It's tiring talking to a person not on the same wavelength. By comparing only then we know @rm149k the S-Hybrid is overpriced. Moreover we are comparingwith cars of better hybrid/battery technology. The 10% diff of Serena and S-Hybrid are based on the lowest prices of the respective models taken from Nissan Japan website(~rm69k vs rm76k). Knowing these prices and Serena Price in langkawi we can roughly estimate the price of S-hybrid. Assuming no other cost, S-Hybrid(highway star) should be rm97000.*76/69=rm107k

With excise & import duties waived and at rm149500 , 2 airbags, fabric seats, optional multimedia navigator this squarish van is way overpriced. Can't wait to see more competition to bring it 'down to size' to reflect its true value.

QUOTE(frank76 @ Jul 23 2013, 10:32 PM) I think only import duties are waived. not Excise duties. In malaysia all car have to pay Excise duties unless ur at langkawi or labuan. Taken from LLD, read this:With its 1,997cc MR20DD petrol engine under the hood, the Serena S-Hybrid is eligible for import and excise duty exemption for hybrid vehicles below 2,000cc (which expires on 31-December 2013). http://www.livelifedrive.com/malaysia/news...sia---rm149-500 I just feel that TCM is greedy and didn't pass this tax benefits to consumer becos there is no competition. I believe the govt will extend this duty exemption for hybrid vehicle to only CKD next year and hopefully by then price should come down and there wii be more competition from other brands. Just look at JazzHybrid and AudiA6 Hybrid. This post has been edited by MGM: Jul 25 2013, 12:44 PM |

QUOTE(NissanTeana @ Jul 25 2013, 06:20 PM) Dude, let's make it fair a bit to others, Toyota Prius selling price in Japan is around RM65K, Prius C is around RM54K and Insight is around RM60K, and Serena is around RM90K, so you can calculate yourself whether the Serena Hybrid is worth to buy or not. If people can accept the Prius price is Malaysia, I have no idea why someone would keep complaining the Serena is expensive lar, Tan Chong greedy lar....... For LOL, you are using Toyota to compare, don't you know both are bloodsu-kers lah. And we are talking about tax exemption here. See how much Honda Jazz Hybrid can be reduced to if one is not so greedy. |
Very good. Do tell more. How's your experience with idling stop system and eco mode? [
You mean idling stop the a/c, only felt air and if it is under the hot sun is ok, so when waiting in car under the hot sun to turn on the aircon econ mode must be switch off? Spend rm150k to suffer? |

QUOTE(Frustrated Customers @ Aug 19 2013, 09:44 PM) Now, I definitely agree with your point of view. They definitely did not expect that I will do detail pricing comparison. So which branch is it?Today, I have received call from Nissan HQ for the follow up. i had made my declaration that they are either cancel my sales, or transfer my sales order to other branch (which I think impossible, so I guess I will get my sales order cancel) At the same time, this branch sales person call me up, she offered me an exchange for a brand new car with hers another customer, who is not able to pick up the car yet. Hmmm...., well. I did not ask what will happen to this existing Serena ......from the way how the management behave, they will clean the car and sell to others as new one..MY GUESS ONLY. When talking to her, she told me that putting customer's car as showroom view is normal practice in her branch. So, that car is really a new car, but the branch wanna save money on purchasing a showroom car whereby the cost is bear by themselves. (She told me each branch had to purchase their own showroom car, or share it with other branches) I will reveal the branch location once the Nissan HQ return to me with decision . Stay tune... I m practicing my patient over Nissan, and not sure when it will burst. |
