one problem i'm facing is car jerking when i'm slowly rolling with soft braking... it's like the S-Hybrid confused whether to start or off the hybrid function.

Also the car have problem trying to climb steep hills.. more than 35 degrees with full 8 adults. even on sport and off eco mode. seems like CVT is meant for normal driving, not on straining jobs.

do you have the overheating issue when at N? if the fans are running fine, then it's probably thermostat.

Mine having the same problem recently. Jerking at low speed, change to ron 97 the problem no more. Once change back ron 95 the jerking is back at low speed. Sc recommend put injector cleaner first. Anyone have tat problem solved?

for the 2 weeks driving experience mostly kl city town + city highway, the fuel consumption is around 8.3 km/l, which around less than 400 km for full tant...i felt that a bit awkward as i expected to be more economic to drive serena. was anyone has the same experience to share ? the engine noice seems improve after driving certain mileage.
hope to improve the driving experience this new car. thanks for sharing. cheers

indeed the mileage is around there for me too. but considering the facts of this car first. the 2.0litre engine is underpowered. 2ndly, the hybrid mainly is just from another acid battery which helps to assist the accessories in the car rather than helping the engine. lastly, considering power to weight ratio. this MPV isn't light, therefore needing the engine to work more to drive up to speed.

so, technically the whole process is good fuel economy, but dont compare to those hybrid vehicles on the market i.e. Prius. it isn't just right comparing apple to orange.

on full city and jam, my lowest is 9.3km/l.... usually 10-11.7km/l..

i think the problem is driving style.

1. i switch off rear aircond if there are no rear passengers.
2. aircond is set between 23-24C
3. aircond blower set at 2 bars
4. use tuffoil additive
5. switch off eco when going uphill or driving out of toll booth.

item 1-3 is to reduce the electrical load so that you can idle longer. total idle time driving from cheras to klcc is around 10-15 minutes for the 45 minutes drive.

this car save fuel by
1. ECO mode - reduce drastic acceleration to reduce fuel consumption.
2. idle stop - reduce fuel consumption when car is not moving
3. s-hybrid - provide 1s electric motor assist during liftoff.
4. s-hybrid - fully switch off fuel injection and charges battery when you lift off throttle when slowing down

so you need to work together with the car's parameters to save fuel... check my lowest FC on highway.... ECO mode really does dampen the throttle movement in return gives better FC.

GREETINGS to all Serena owners & forumers.....

I'm a late comer in this forum and a newbie. smile.gif

I'm from Johor. Planning to get a silver Serena pretty soon. Selling off my 10 year old Nissan X-Trail and my 8 year old Myvi.

Been reading all 32 pages of the forum...and happy to have many good info from the seniors.

Just for your info....I do not have a family. Still single but I love big cars & that is why I chose Serena.

Anyway....will update once I have progress.

Take care and drive safely, guys!

Anyone here knows where I can get the rear spoiler. Mine which is brilliant silver will arrive by end of October 2014. Want to get the rear spoiler before I send my Serena for lacquer coating.

Any advice or direction would be helpful...especially if it is available in Johor.

Many thanks.
