Black is out of stock... so is purple i think...

got mine pearl white with free navigation (all is free now)..

i add RM700 for the roof mount lcd. and hefty discount on tinting with Windscreen brand and visor.. not too shabby but good work. all done by SA. i can say about 50% off from what you can get outside.

on discount, i got RM9k discount given by branch... but this is not guaranteed given.

the fuel voucher i gave to SA since the discounts i've got with accessories already more than 10k.

Hi all..this might be new problem for our serena..perhaps this is a rare case.

My engine overheating indicator suddenly turned on while idling in P position (with aircond on & buckled up seat belt). I have already experienced it 3 times now. The simptom started with the aircond feel warm, s-hybrid not fuctioning..and finally the overheat indicator turns on. It takes about more than 15 minutes to happen. So far it is not happening while driving.

I have sent my car for troubleshooting at 3 different sc..so far non of them can conclude what is the problem. And now my car is at Klang sc..perhaps they know what the problem is..will update more later.

If anyone has experienced the same problem..please share with us the solution. Thank you.

one problem i'm facing is car jerking when i'm slowly rolling with soft braking... it's like the S-Hybrid confused whether to start or off the hybrid function.

Also the car have problem trying to climb steep hills.. more than 35 degrees with full 8 adults. even on sport and off eco mode. seems like CVT is meant for normal driving, not on straining jobs.

do you have the overheating issue when at N? if the fans are running fine, then it's probably thermostat.

Finally had my car service and checking on the jerk or "feel of sudden breakdown kind of shaking". These major jerks happened about 4 times in the past 2 months. The service centre said that there were some error codes detected about plugging in my car. But no further explanation on the cause of it. According to him, there are three levels of error codes differentiated by colours- red, green and I forgot the other one. Mine is green which means very mild error with no action needed. Just reset the codes. I don't understand it also.

"The car should be ok now. If the jerking happens again, please send it back for checking" said the service centre. So I will try it out for till the next service.

Maybe your car has the same problem as mine. biggrin.gif hmm.gif

you might as well buy second hand and you get almost 20k discount.

it boils down to timing... mine is to clear the 2013 stocks for the new model. plus instead of giving discount, they included the navigation kit.

it's a risk to consider as;
1. the car might out of stock,
2. colour might not be what you want,
3. cars has been baking under the sun for almost 1 year
4. you're buying old cars... hence if i were to sell it 1 days after i bought, it's still a 1 year old car.

so those losses are calculated as discounts.

first buyers also gets free labour and parts if i'm not mistaken... mine only parts for first 2 service.

Look like TC going to lunch CKD facelift soon. Paultan.org got show spy photo. Check japan website, I was wandering if we could buy those new equipment like Emergency Brake and Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Around View Monitor (AVM) with Moving Object Detection (MOD), Emergency Assist for pedal misapplication and Driver Attention Alert to install to our old S-Hybrid model? unsure.gif

the new CKD already in TC warehouse. seen the spyshots 2 months back.

the engine sound is abit rough, on ECO mode it should be subdued. but this engine is not suitable for the ECO setup... because this engine is not a low rev engine... Max Torque at 4400RPM... hence limiting to 2000rpm means the car only uses half of it's torque most of the time.

the should use an engine tuned with lower max torque rpm... something like 3600rpm so that we will use 75% of torque most of the time.

the above comment probably explained why the engine sound is loud when eco mode is enabled. Is there anyway to reduce the noise level ?

i find it loud when in sport mode... but if you say it's loud at low rpm, you need to compare it with other serena...

but i feel the engine sounds "dry".... maybe the engine is still new, or perhaps lower vicosity oil used by TC...

but i used tuffoil and it does reduce the noise.

not yet la.... but ive found solace in aikka plastic dip, just sprayed the chrome parts... but if i have to redo, propbly go with the real plasti dip... aikka lays thin, even 4 coats still thin, took 5 hours just to remove the residue... other than that looks fine...
