Hi lyn forumer,

Want to ask opinion about changing tyre profile from 205/45/R16 to 195/50/R16.How much comfort is it noticeable or not.If not might as well downgrade to 15 and using tyre 55 profile.Any expert here/experience user here comment is needed.Still using oem absorber my car is myvi.

Thanks all biggrin.gif

first off. i dun think going to 15 is a necessarily a downgrade. downsize maybe, but i actually think its an upgrade for a myvi.

anyway, that aside. i think the comfort between 45 and 50 profile is not that great la. since you are still riding on much shorter sidewall.

i personally would go for 15" if I were you, but I am not. lol..

205/45 profile means your tire sidewall is 9.225cm so it's already very thin and hence harsh ride. While 195/50 means the sidewall is 9.75cm which is about 0.5cm higher/thicker. You will notice some improvement there BUT for me personally if it's still <10cm it will still be a bit harsh/not comfortable enough. So my suggestion is also just go with 15' rims using 195/55 tires which will be 10.725cm height of tire sidewall or increase of 1.5cm.

Thanks for input. Also thinking to revert to 14,not using back stock rim, using tyre 185/60/r14.Maybe the cost will cheaper than downgrade to 15.

I changed my 17" 215/45 to 15" 195/55, not only it's less noisy and more comfortable, it also saves up 20% of fuel mileage. Moreover, the pickup is faster; alot faster.

actually i'm thinking of the same too...my 205/50/16 is kinda killing me with road noise.

rough roads are everywhere...and it makes my car really noise. i was thinking either to downsize to 195/60/15 ....but need to consider the cost too ..

izzitwill be better is if change to softer thres like falken Ze912? i hear its kida soft type

Already settled to 15 inch rim with cdrive 2 195/55/r15..handling? of course 16 inch rims handles better especially higway cruise and cornering.. tongue.gif
