Argh, based on exynos abuse, the exploit is still epxloitable after update

@tot31, can you check whether the exploit still exploitable? Thanks

Checked with the application, it failed, so it is still protected.
I think ExynosAbuse show exploitable due I am restoring from Titanium backup, which restore the config also

So, for those who want to keep counter 0 (status will always be modified if you root, sooner or later), can try this approach

Install 4.1.1 roms, Root using ExynosAbuse, then Update using Mobile Odin Pro to 4.1.2, it keeps counter intact.

"As always, good things come at a price, so the currently available 512GB model is selling at US $1750, "

That's expensive, but like bringing portable SSD,

This is also the reason I am grateful Snote2 support OTG, but wish there is an OTG that support Charging simultaneously.

yes, confirmed exynos abuse can't work with 4.1.2 DLL7

but does CF-Auto-Root method by chainfire still work with this malaysia firmware?
*
If want to keep counter 0, use mobile odin pro, but if not mistaken, generally CF-Auto-Root works

Or if you have a linux desktop, try manual root brows.gif brows.gif

Btw, any one got tutorial on how to manually root Note 2? Just wanted to learn

If your device is paired , it's auto connect . If not , u have to do it manually
*
Well it is paired, but after disconnect, it doesn't auto connect

The BT is MW600, paired to 2 phone, and it auto paired with Blackberry, is it possible due to pairing to two devices? Thanks

Well, one advantage I see is the MicroSD + OTG, 16+64+up to 750GB (HDD tested, WD My Passport) deserved to be bragged about....

Well, I wish one day, I can decide what OS can be installed on whatever Device I want, especially most mobile OS based on Unix Kernel (Tizen, Mozilla, Android, and somehow iOS), that will be very cool...

Multiview is just for show and not practical. Disabled it long ago.  tongue.gif

I didn't really use multiview, as the screen is quite small for multi view, but Pop-Up browser is very good, when need to open link in apps, just choose popup browser and can browser while keeping the apps open (tho some apps doesn't support it and pause)

thanks,
actually i bought it 3 weeks ago and has been sitting in my cupboard ..hehe
just about to take it out and start using it..
thanks for the kind recommendation and any more good apps??

If still on version 4.1.1, use ExynosAbuse apk to root, but if not, then use CF-AutoROOT

ParagonNTFS to mount NTFS hard disk, Es file explorer to browse it,

That's my 2cents

edit: And, SManager+BusyBox and follow this link
http://galaxynote2root.com/galaxy-note-2-t...e-2-app2sd-mod/
To swap SD card, if you root already. Btw, the mod using this will not allow you to read the internal storage using My Files (depend on each device tho), but u still can read using ES

Anyone successfully connect ethernet usb to their Note 2? I tried to insmod asix.ko but i got this output
"inmod: init_module 'asix.ko' failed (Exec format error)"

I compile the driver in Linux Mint 14, then transfer the whole folder into Note 2
Dmesg seems detecting the Ethernet USB, but no driver attached to it.

Can anyone give clue to this newbie? Thanks

In that case sir, you are above my skills in this area.  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif

I would suspect though that you might need some entry in etc\conf ? or dev\eth0 ? Or in the case of android, some libxx.so in the correct folders?

What about compiling with ARM flags set?
*
I am not sure actually how to get the ARM flag, but it seems that there is no arm flag in the make file icon_question.gif

I don't think Note 2 support Ethernet, but worth a try if it work nod.gif
