Sifu, is that taken with HDR option?

it does seem to be that the Mate is not that much larger than note 2, but sammy is going even further, 6.3 inch.....maybe totally no bezel? sweat.gif

Much as we'd like the concept of "no-bezel" I think some bezel area serves a practical purpose to frame our view on the screen. Of course, I am aware of the 6.3" and in last thread I also posted a shot of comparison between an A6-sized paper notebook, a 7" Huawei Mediapad, GN2 and an overlaid ruler.

The 6.3" should just be slightly larger than the Mate. Note that its dimensions put it slightly longer, width at 5mm more is not significant if you already have an otterbox  whistling.gif

163.5 mm x 85.7 mm x 9.9 mm - Mate
151.1 mm x 80.5 mm x 9.4 mm - Note 2

but its really pushing it though sweat.gif
nevertheless, kinda confirmed getting it just for 1080p sake tongue.gif

1080p is a nice to have, but the compelling one would be A15 quad and 3Gb RAM. If full ARM linux gets released for this, you can kiss your notebook goodbye.
*
curious to see how will sammy put an a15 quad on the s3, maybe with low clocks? a15 is pretty power hungry~

You are right, A15 has a high peak power consumption which makes it quite hot in small form factors. So maybe they will put a dual core, and then let the marketers try to figure out a Dual Core > Quad Core message  rclxub.gif  without confusing the public with lots of technical info.  tongue.gif

BTW, I read the ARM spec sheet it says A15 has LPAE that can address up to 1Tb memory by the processor, but it's still a 32bit processor with backwards compatibility with v7A architecture.
ARM needs to take the leap to 64bits but perhaps by that time Haswell and son may beat the shit out of ARM.
*
or maybe have the BIG.Little configuration? hmm.gif

1TB of RAM?? rclxub.gif for servers might be useful I guess haha
ARMv8 is 64bits iinm, might be announced on 2014 or 2015 biggrin.gif but for servers first because, again, power consumption sad.gif

Maybe Samsung dev team realized "oh shit, we need to switch this newshinyjuicesuckingAPI off" and promptly patched in DLL7?
*
that just might be true, but we will never know laugh.gif

Now I love my Galaxy Note 2 to bits but I'll be honest ... I'm tempted by the new Sony Xperia Z.

Have some videos to look at while you pretend to work:

just wondering, in recovery, CWM can detect USB drives attached via OTG?

re flashing my ROMOW for the 4th time...

1. didn't get awesome status bar
2. didn't get awesome fonts
3. stock everything , crap
4. flashing everything now
*
use chenglu 6.0.1.5 CWM, so far never failed on me even once!!! thumbup.gif
backup restore also always works reliably smile.gif
Will only be changing recovery once 4.2 official comes out lol(will need 6.0.2.7 then nod.gif)

wipe clean and re-flashed. i keep getting the settings messed up but then i'm a happy camper now  rclxm9.gif
corrects. i itchy backside (hopefully not nfsw word) and tried the touch and twrp. both are actually less useful.
prefer the normal 6.0.1.5 which is stable and reliable
best recovery ever. opposite of ROMs. ROMs improve with features, this recovery when installed with more features becomes less reliable, the last thing i want  from a recovery icon_rolleyes.gif
*
chenglu got touch also nod.gif
dont rmb having a non touch version hmm.gif
maybe that was an early version?

abyss recovery is almost same as others except u have option to add in his own tweaks , options to clear int.d from recovery , etc . . .
*
yeah, he tends to do that, an interface on CWM rather than having an app smile.gif
Nice for ppl who wants to try something different smile.gif

I'm using it on 4.1.1.

PS: I read M9 can't work on 4.2, which is why I wanted to confirm 4.1.2 working or not. Anyway thanks
*
will work just need to tinker with a folder called organic, I think this should be on first page too tongue.gif

oh sorry, u got it to work ready, it will work well with 4.1.2, no worries, 4.1.2 not much difference compared to 4.1.1 smile.gif

Me prefer to use a car as an example..much easier to understand.
Phone = car
Firmware/rom = engine
Kernel = ignition
Root = car key
*
so if no root, cant on phone? tongue.gif

Then plenty of smartphone users have a meaningless phone leh. That is the practical reality....eh,....so many people getting on without knowing the meaning of root....life....possibilities to be unlocked...
*
most smartphone users are missing out on so much sad.gif
but as long as they are happy with the phone and can tell the whole world that they are currently on the loo at One Utama Shopping Centre with all sort of check in app, I guess its fine tongue.gif
