QUOTE(waveweaver @ Jan 11 2013, 09:58 AM) To unroot the phone before sending to service centre. SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE2 TOOLKIT seems to be able to do all in a nice package. - do TriangleAway to reset binary counter back to zero. - flash official stock firmware with PC Odin...this will unroot the phone..remove the superuser and custom CWM with one go. - do a factory reset. - now you're good for service centre i got a question, once i received my note 2, what are the check and test i should do to ensure the set is all right and good. i mean any app that can help me check. |

QUOTE(dearblues @ Jan 11 2013, 10:12 AM) sorry for the noob question. Triangleaway only clean flash counterstep for firmware update if rooted - triangle away - update? settings-->about device-->software update-->check right or wrong? It will not remove root If rooted , no matter what you do you cannot have OTA update Easiest and fastest way to update firmware for rooted phones : download the latest rom from sammobile.com/firmware Flash the extracted tar file as PDA in PC : your root n CWM will be gone after flash You need to root it again and have CWM installed thereafter OR Flash the extracted tar file using Mobile Odin Pro in phone ( select keep everroot and just select wipe caches will do). PHone will remain rooted but you need to install CWM again If you plan to keep root/CWM it is better to flash it in PC using Odin. After bootup just flash Chenglu root/CWM file in PC using Odin |

QUOTE(waveweaver @ Jan 11 2013, 09:04 AM) Now got new issue where phone just go goes dead without reason. Sudden death but not brick by flashing..i mean. S3 have a lots of cases though Note2 only one case i heard so far. I guess the one case you mentioned was referring to my brothers Note 2 which I mentioned here before. He sent the phone for warranty and within 2 weeks he already got back his phone. Samsung replaced the whole motherboard. I don't know about S3 cases whether they got easy replacements like that or not... Hopefully no more Note 2 issue like that in the future.... p/s: I proof-read my posting twice for spelling mistakes... Hahahah.... |

Edit : the above is to check whether your phone still have a trace of been rooted. For testing other features you can use dualker code *#0*# This post has been edited by waveweaver: Jan 11 2013, 10:43 AM |

The device is still vulnerable to SDS emmc bugs attack after replacement. Hopefully no more Note 2 issue like that in the future.... p/s: I proof-read my posting twice for spelling mistakes...
