Here's my collection. Both are hotwheels

McLaren MP4-20

Renault R25

But from what I can see, the Renault's paintjob is much better. At least its paint is much more shiny. Btw, you can get these at a toy shop in BTS, near McDonald's.

Here's a shot with both cars together smile.gif

are f1 hotwheels made from plastics?
*
Only the body of the car is made of steel. The under-part, exhaust, rims, wings, chimneys, wishbones and suspension are all made of plastic. But still, there are some details which differs from the real car like the color of the chimney, which is supposed to be black. The color of the exhaust is ermm, not right. Also, the sidepod only has the word "Kimi" written. The word "Raikkonen" written in cursive is missing laugh.gif. Obviously, the model of the mp4-19 at Tag Heuer show room is much more detailed. But still, the quality for this one is satisfying considering its in the rm100+ category rclxms.gif

Actually there's a lot of these die casts everywhere. I found some fw26, the Williams with the walrus-like nose cone, 2004 Jaguar, 2004 Jordan etc etc. All from Hotwheels.

@Jackygwh
Yeah the details are great for a rm100+ die cast. But for some reason, the artwork on the R25 is much better than the MP4-20. The livery on the R25 is very much the same compared to the real thing. Besides, the paint on the R25 model is much more shiny than the MP4-20. The wings alone show that Hotwheels put more detail on the R25 model. The wings, both front and back, has a fine gap between the wing layers. While on the MP4-20, the wings are actually a single piece laugh.gif

Probably its bcoz Renault is the favourite after winning the 2005 championship laugh.gif

price of the car (RM 110 ~ RM 119... i dont remember the price exactly  tongue.gif ) and RM 15 ~ 20 for Pos Laju because the box is big and the car is a bit heavy.

The last time i got the renault from parkson, it was rm119.90. But if u buy somewhere else, it should be more than that. I bought the mclaren from a toy store and its rm10 more. Btw, is there a Montoya version for the mp4-20?

Btw, here's some pics of the R26 side-byside with last year's R25 smile.gif :

I went to the one at Sg Wang. Haha, simply becoz this one not many ppl shop there laugh.gif So the chances are, you can find it there tongue.gif But sadly, I can only find Montoya's MP4-21 there. No sign of Kimi. If not, I'll surely buy the MP4-21. But then again, like last year's MP4-20, the paint job on the MP4-21 looked worse than the other cars sad.gif Oh well, at least I've got Fernando's R26 for now. Will keep looking for Kimi's MP4-21 smile.gif

Nola, its not a dedicated die-cast shop. Its Parkson store. Just go the Parkson's children department and look for these at the Hotwheels segment smile.gif I think KLCC Parkson also have these

Wah you guys are really desperate to get the models lar. Going to the extend of paying extra when you know its not worth that much, whoa, really enthusiastic.

Anyway, I just wanna tell you all to be patient. I was in a similar situation early this year looking for Kimi's MP4-20. Went to all possible places that could possibly stock these diecast models in their inventory, each time going home disappointed. I really wanted to get one because I thought these things were limited edition sutff. After a month searching, I thought wah game over lar.

Some time later, when the Sepang F1 craze was over, I went back to a shop in BTS, where I previously saw Fisi's R25, Ruben's F2005. And hey, guess what? Schumi's F2005 was there, Kimi's MP4-20 was there. Even Fernando's R25 was there. All the hard-to-find stuff were there!

So what I'm trying to say is, these stuff are hot now, coz they're just released recently. Demand is really high as expected. When the demand starts to fade, there'll be plenty of stock. Besides, only those major supermarkets were carrying them now. Toy shops will have them in their inventory later anyway.

Btw, you can try call Malaysia's Mattel distributor if you wanna know the availability of the diecasts. At least thats what I did last time. Good luck ppl smile.gif I'm gonna take my time searching smile.gif

Eh guys, dont worry lar. I'll help you all look for it (and help myself in the process laugh.gif). I work near KLCC. So i can always go scout for these diecasts almost everyday during lunch time laugh.gif Besides, I also frequent Maluri Jusco and BTS. Haha. If got stock, I'll give you guys a heads up on the same day. Cheers smile.gif

Sad case man. These cars are nowhere to be found. We'll at least at the places I usually check. But one weird thing is, the McLarens are always harder to find. I mean for other cars, the secondary driver's is always available. But for McLaren, its always hard to find, be it the primary or secondary driver's car. I thought the MP4-21 were not gonna sell well coz its not one of the favourite of the season unlike last year's MP4-20. But, ermm, again they're all gone in no time. Sigh

Same here. Montoya's MP4-21 at Sg Wang Parkson. And thats only 1 left. It sells far better than any other secondary drivers. I would've bought it if its in good condition, but hey that one has a loose side-mirror. laugh.gif This one really resemble Kimi's McLaren. Flying side mirror baby! laugh.gif

Huhu. Sad, I still couldnt get the McLaren sad.gif But talking about the paint job, I think Renault is same as last year, its good. Yeah, the paint on the parts with liveries are kinda rough, coz i think those liveries are stickers, which makes the surface looked abit rough. The upper part of the side-pod looked really nice and shiny, looked kinda like candy shell.

As for McLaren, the paint job is as bad as last years, the entire car looked rough laugh.gif The car looked kinda dirty, the paint covered some foreign objects beneath the coating, making it looked like as if there's some small air pockets here and there doh.gif
But i can say, no matter how bad the paint is, its still better than maisto's laugh.gif

I think the best looking diecast is the ferrari f248. The car's paint is really smooth, the entire car is shiny and candy-shell like smile.gif
