Btw, I think I've set my eyes on the Fluval C3. 5 stage filtration. One thing I think I will love about it is that all the individual filter chambers can be easily accessed without having to remove the entire filtration system, thus it is pretty convenient. Plus, the mechanical filtration is easily replaceable by getting any generic filter wool/sponge, the chemical filtration container can easily fit in any sort of media of your choice. By default it comes with charcoal but you can replace it with bio rings instead! Then, there's the trickle system where the water will pass over a plastic plate with holes in it. Water will drip down, directly in contact with the bio media. And then only the water is fully filtered and goes into the tank.

Mechanical (Double foam pads) -----> Chemical filtration (optional: Any media of your choice like bio rings/balls) ---> Biological filtration




Btw guys, the Ista CO2 disposable can (RM30+) is not good enough for a 15 gallon planted tank maybe?

No matter how advance hob is , it just a hob, bro, start saving now and get a eheim 2213 or 2215 (if couple with chiller) canister filter.
Think alive and natural aquatic subang 19 still have some with free eheim media at cheap price after bargin.

it depends on what brand you are using.
canister filer emits less heat compare to submerge pump.
we encourage canister filter because it will keep co2 in closed loop. hence, plants have more time/chance taking co2 before it is escape.

Estimative Index Dosing was never about combating algae. It was designed to give the plants unlimited supply of nutrients. Even algae will get their shares of nutrients. However, with healthy plants, and with high plant biomass, algae would eventually go away. If you think by limiting the nutrients, you will starve algae, you are wrong. Algae can live with very limited supply of nutrients. With low nutrients, you plants will fail. Their membrane structure will rapture, and will leak nutrients. This is why in an unhealthy planted tanks (limiting nutrients), you will find algae attached to your plants.. Be wise to embrace nutrients.

no you dont have to put it in fridge for p2 and p3. just avoid it from lights. it should be enough. 

mmm... personally i would purchase green gain instead of bacter.
bacter- for increasing beneficial bacteria activity
gain- contain hormones/ amino acid to promote plant growth.
but bear in mind non of these will be those magic potion that will make ur tank bloom over night. it helps but you still need to get other elements of the tank rite for healthy plant growth.

Hi all, just need to ask who is using eheim2215 cannister around here? Ive just newly installed my 2215 and its already been running for 24 hours already but it seems that there are still some air trapped inside my cannister... once in every few minutes the outlet pipe will still let out some bubbles coming from the cannister. Is this normal? Shall i continue to let it run fot a few more days until it totally clear out the bubbles inside or is there sth that im doing wrong?

Sry but what do u mean by prime it? I thought when u buy the cannister it comes with the whole set of filter media? Isnt that enough?
