Hi, put some hardy fishes like danio, and add live stock slowly. for a new nutrient enriched soil i'll just do WC 50-80% three times a week for a month. then wc 50% 2 times a week for the 2nd month and 50% weekly for the third month. i just use treated pipe water. usually it will takes about a month.

Regarding the watt/liter rule, it is just a general guideline. it is best be used with t8 bulb. but to have a really accurate reading, we should measure the PAR value in micromoles using PAR meters.

hi. more light = faster growth = more co2 + more nutrients and vice versa. which means u can maintain ur lights but scale up your co2 on par with your lights to a point your fauna cant stand and use high doses of nutrients or you can try to reduce your current bulb to 2 or 3 bulbs or u can raise your light fixture with 4 bulbs at least 15 to 20 in from your substrate. lower lights will make your riccis grow slower but beware reducing lights will make ur plants in stablizing mode for a while before rebound back to normal growth. regarding current flow yes it will helps your plants to use the co2 efficiently. it is in this way they can consume the co2.. many thanks.

livestock wont mind about the ph swing. but they wont stand kh swing. plants they will be fine.

The spots look like GSA - Green Spot Algae - due to not enough phosphate.

Yellowish dots and holes due to low CO2 or not enough fertilizer.

May i know your tank volume, soil, lights, fertilizer regime and using CO2 or non co2?
