bought hornwort today, shop guy said he dont use ferts all those. placed into my tank, all amano shrimps died within 2 hours

went to ss19 to buy driftwood & lava rocks.

but the hornwort i bought killed my amano shrimps.. 2nd time ady.. aih..

btw, what chemicals in plants kills amano shrimps?
last time i bought hornwort from ikano, my amano shrimps died. then i read online only found out that maybe ikano used some kind of ferts/chemical for plant growth not surtable for amano shrimps
so today i asked the shop worker, he said didnt dose anything but my amano shrimps died in 2 hrs

i dont know his name but i think he might be a new worker.. small size boy

owh.. okay.. sorry to annoy but.. for planted tank,

cherry shrimps do clean tanks as good as amano? algae wise..

or shall i just put cherrys & otto in my planted tank.

if you really serious in breeding cherry, planted tank is not very suitable. as plant may need fert and co2, both of it may kill your cherry.
unless you opt for low tech tank with no co2 and no fert..

plus, with heavily planted tank, you may got issue to trace the cherry
just IMHO

i read somewhere the best is still ceramic bio rings. it has more surface for the good bacteria. of coz best is still seachem matrix  or the substrat pro from eheim. for normal usage, the ceramic bio ring is good enough
