Eggy, please helpe understand your issue.

Your condo has 2 ports for centralised dish, and
Your PVR has 2 cables.

Right?

Am wondering what if
My condo has only 1 port for centralised dish, while
My PVR has 2 cables.

Please advise. Thank you

My condo has one satellite port. You need a splitter to use both coax port on the decoder. I'm using the splitter too.

Guys, please help me out.

Try putting the coax cable inside my condo satellite port, the decoder is working, but 'This channel is not available' when I pressed 101.

Please help :-(

Want to remove PVR box. 2 cables from the dish.

New location:
Centralised dish.

Is it just plug and play?
Or need to call for assistance?

Please advise. Thank you.

depends on your centralise system whether is HD centralise or non HD centralise system.

For PVR decoders:

non HD centralise system you may install 2 way splitter to split the cables (one for recording, another for viewing)

If it's HD centralise system, you may need to buy an equipment called stack de-stacker from astro / astro installer for your pvr decoder.

the function of stacker de-stacker is also to split to 2 cables.

which state are you currently staying bro? i got contacts that can help you if you're in KL area.

Stacker-destacker is not available. its has been replace with SatCR.

SatCR is workable even for centralise dish systems?? Since you got contacts, hope you can get more info about this from them, especially on how it works.

Apply for the 3rd decoder with dish. Let them install at your aunt place. Then take them to your place. Or you might ask the contractor to install for you straight to your address with additional fee. Normally they won’t tell astro about this.

SatCR is not workable for centralise system. only stacker de-stacker is workable for HD centralise system.

but since the beginning of this year, there's this new technology called dCSS (is a type of LNB) that can replace on the existing centralise system, and after changing it, every residents only have to do settings and they are able to receive HD signals. However, for PVR users, they only have to add 2 way splitter instead of stacker de-stacker.

i don't mind sharing the contractor contact (only klang valley area), just PM me. This contractor i know has been maintaining and doing astro and antenna centralise system in KL area for more than 15 years.

Oh wow. Hope you can share more about this...

What's the difference between SatCR and DCSS? I know SatCR can split only up to 4 tuners (4 Astro HD box, or 2 Astro PVR box). Correct me if I'm wrong.
Is DCSS the same thing as Unicable? Can explain how it works?

Thanks.

Ohh thanks, this is very helpful, does this mean that still astro provide me with the contractor or i have to find myself? If lets say astro provide contractor with a hp no, i can deal with them by myself right?

They will assign you with a contractor. You can try deal with them directly.

Yes. The RM53 is a flat rate price, regardless if you're using HD or PVR box.

I have done some research on the Astro Multiroom package.

My father's house has a PVR STB installed. The monthly subscription is about RM200.

I'm moving out to a house about 15km away, and would like to take advantage of this. While getting a PVR STB for my new house is relatively easy, I'm not sure if I can get a another satellite dish wit this new subscription. There isn't anything written on the Astro website for this. There's only 1 satellite dish in my father's house right now and I can't take it to my new house.

Any advice guys?

Thanks in advance!

I'm such a serowpoke.
I just realized they have this multiroom thing for Astro. But I remember last time I saw it at my friend's place before, but cannot change channel.

I'm considering to cancel my house's Astro (PVR), and the ask my bro to register a 2nd decoder, and move it back to my place... will this work?
