Morning guys! I've been reading books and websites about stock trading but still a little bit pening when I'm reading annual reports and so. Haha

Any more sites for me to do further studying? =D

There are no short cuts.

Best way to learn is to paper trade.
And do paper trading for at least 3 years.

That's your tuition.

DO not listen to idiotic people who says is ok to pay tuition fees when by losing money in the stock market.
Losing is never ok.
And one thing they will never say to you is that IF you are not careful, you could hit by a massive tuition fees which could wipe you out.

Yup. It's silly to pay tuition fees in the market.
Learn really well before you make your first ever trade.

When you mean paper trading, which means I trade stocks on paper myself right?

Ya, it's never ok. I want to know the whole thing behind all of it. There's market, there's always chance. I don't mind losing the so called 'best chance'.

The market Is so massive and I keep reading papers, annual reports, research but still feel insufficient.

How to improve my financial literacy? Do you recommend workshop?  I want to learn more.
*
Paper trading = simulated trading or put it bluntly, fake/imaginary trading.
Track down all your buy/sell decisions.
Record everything down.
Record why you buy and sell each share.
Record everything.

Chart your success/failure.

Keep at it.
Study carefull your performance.
Learn all about yourself.

Don't trade till you learn about yourself. sweat.gif

To improve your financial literacy? Look for gark. He's good. Really good. smile.gif

Yes, I'm doing that.  biggrin.gif

Have been tracking down the few that I'm noticing and doing it by myself.

When you said learn about myself, do you mean the reasons why do I want to trade or what? I've been asking around my friends and family. Seems like everyone is not that keen on trading on stocks because of what they heard and experienced. In my pov, they are losing money simply because they do not know what are they doing and they are kinda like, gambling.

I'm very clear that I'm not that type of short-term investor, rather I hope that I can at least expand my portfolio through stock trading, and to do that, I will need to educate myself because I know that financial literacy is the thing I lack of.  sweat.gif
There are many ways to trade and also many ways to invest.

Just the most common grouping is the daytrader ( or day punter? ) vs the contra trader vs the longer term trader.

And within this grouping, there are many ways to trade.

When you know yourself, you, know what you are good at and what you are not.

Sad to say, it's exactly like casino gambling. tongue.gif

In a casino, there are so many gambling tables.
Each table is a different bet.
Different rules.
To be good gambler, does it mean you have to be good at all the bets laid out?
I am sure you know the answer is no.
You just need to know what bet you are good at.
If you are good at Big/Small, then isn't it logical to bet just on that?

Back to stocks....
Don't ever follow the populist bet out there.
You read a forum, and everyone seems to be in that trade.
You call your Lee Mai Share (simply buy share) , and he/she will recommend the populist trade out there currently.
So do you have to trade that stock?

Answer is NO.

You find yourself first.....

whistling.gif

by the way, what are the books you have read?

with the right issue coming soon...

debt will turn zero ....

Dr M's son left the company...

now with the only brother maintaining the company....

i see potential in here...

we dont look at previous old history result....

look future...  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Ah yes.
Of course everything is in the future.

We see a company making lots of money now and will continue making more money in the future, so we buy.

Problem is... AHB needs the rights issue FIRST.

That will still take many months to complete...

With the money, debt will be pare, then and only then the company CAN START rebuilding...

again... many months will be required....

Last time, Artwright did ok, for office furniture, if I am not mistaken.
So most likely AHB will be back in the sector.

Which means .. another furniture stock.

Right now, most furniture shop, which exports to US, with USD very strong ...
And with slightly better orders from US, these furniture are making BANYAK money. tongue.gif

But as you know...
furniture business....
while being a lasting business....
their BOOM times don't last very long...
And for me, NOW is just the start of the BOOM period...
but I tell you this...
I do not know how long it will last.... sweat.gif

So by the time....
all the gears are finally set in motion for AHB....
what exactly are we looking at then?
what kind of future?
and of course, can AHB even deliver?

And this is where, choices come in...
we can choose a furniture stock, which is already performing, having good growth and making tons of money...
or we can choose AHB...
a new horsey...
but track record... not so clear.

So we buy the future... but what type of future are we betting on?

hmm.gif

On a trading pov...
This (today) could be the shake up AHB needs....
what is MOST important...
is not how much AHB goes up today...
BUT how AHB perform comes T+3...

My 3 sen leh... icon_rolleyes.gif

@boon @gark, since nothing much happening now hoh, take a look at IOIPG ?
almost back at IPO price.
*
I seldom look at IPO stocks.
When they list, they are usually sold to the public at higher prices based on optimistic numbers.
So if a stock falls back to their IPO prices, it usually means nothing much to me.

If I am ever interested, I would rather wait about 2 years before looking into it.

Stock to watch... Tas 5149 brows.gif

Ah Loo give tipsy!

Ho yeh! thumbup.gif

Err... this one.... HAD great potential. wink.gif

It's a turnaround play stock...

You can see how the stock rallied since Sep last year.
Price then 40+ sen.

The fantastic earnings was only announced in Oct, where earnings increased 200+ %.
Yeah, the insider knew. tongue.gif

Another good set of earnings was announced on Jan.
Annualising it, maybe you can get around 16+ sen eps.

But now price 120+- ......

Cos of this, some people would argue...
ayam run away jor.... tongue.gif

And some would say, big risk of chasing this ayam that had already run so far jor...... sweat.gif

But these naysayers could be wrong...
Earnings could improve more....

which means... there could be more upside.... maybe 2++ is even possible.... whistling.gif

Chase now or wait and buy the breakout?

Last time ini mari 1.60, &a& is 90+ sen, now 1.80 jor.. &a7 at 80+ sen..

mad.gif

My opinion hor....

look at the volume...
compare it to the vol back in Nov...

See the big difference?

Rite now...
volume is almost non existence...
indicating no strong hand is playing the stock at this moment of time...
which is why you see the stock is drifting no where...
perhaps as you say...
not even defying logic.... sweat.gif
