Hello,

Looking at Hermes H belt.
I read reviews on the H classic belt which has no pattern on belt

The shiny gold version. I heard from friends they said its very easy scratch-able.
Advices from them are : Using woman's nail polish the invisible version.

Is it true? Advices please on how would you take care of the belt?

I think the H Hermes belt is probably one of the most over rated belt in the luxury range. Hermes loves to create that 'artificial demand' on their belts and make it look like it's in demand and people are willing to queue for it.

Have to agree with you on this but what to do. Some people cannot resist temptation. Well it's classy as well la. I mean you hardly see H or C (Channel) belt like symbolizes the brand

I am getting my stock from UK. You can always buy from reseller. They go UK, Europe just to buy these back. HERMES in pavilion you will never find it? Cos it's highly in demand as well or they don't want to produce back to Malaysia. Hahah I don't know. tongue.gif hope you find one soon.

For watches one even if expensive also I feel it's k. Not that very obvious because the glass is sapphire. But this belt one it's just plated (correct me if I'm wrong), so when scratch its very obvious one.

I can conclude this la ; whatever luxury stuff you have must take good care wink.gif

agree, especially those leather stuff, it's kinda troublesome to clean n moisturise it from time to time.
By the way i tried those nail polish before, no scratches (no idea if it's working or just no scratched on it)

I can't say for sure about the gold one but I know the silver one is pretty alright. I don't think you'd have to worry about scrathes, unless you plan to wear a belt of around RM 3000 out on a daily basis to work etc.

On a side note they're more than one type of 'H' belts right? 2 sizes for the buckle I'm not mistaken. Even in the UK they're almost forever out of stock.

So you painted nail polish on the buckle right? so far, how frequent you wear your belt?
If let say I were to apply nail polish to the buckle will it affect the look? how do i need to clean it up and reapply again?

Yeah probably the 32mm. It's 485 pounds @ the UK. After you claim GST it'll be less...but still really expensiveeee! That's if you're lucky enough to get the buckle and color that you want too tongue.gif

Aiyo, if you can afford the belt, you can surely afford to scratch it.

As simple as that.

Besides, the H belt is pretty loud nowadays. Still prefer something low profile that does not shout "I'm Rich" from a distance laugh.gif

You can't go wrong with a submariner tongue.gif

Besides, 2,5k for a belt, rather not splurge that much, see how fast I kill belts laugh.gif

just my point of view on hermes "H" belt.

everytime i look at guys wearing a H belt, from distance, i normally will assume that it is fake, unless the guy is coming out from a ferrari for example. it is because the fake H belt is being sold everywhere now.

You know sometimes wearing H doesn't mean satisfying people . For example, I like the H because it symbolises my name and agree with statement down below it makes a person feel confident as well.

Anwyays just my lousy 2 cents tongue.gif

Nah, just saying.

If you need a belt to show you're confidence, then might as well don't bother.

Enjoy your new belt. The best way to prevent it from behind scratched is to be careful. Mine did not get any scratch even thou I used it quite often for a short time.

Tbh did not bother.

Just use it like a normal belt before letting it go for something less obvious later on.

Gotta say I love the reversible side thou.

Other than that, it's just a normal belt for me.

what a great concept those guys at Hermes have thought of... the design and marketing team had a meeting one day and said...

"hey team! ive got an idea! lets design a product for the customer that is so obnoxiously blatant advertising for us and yet charge a ludicrous amount of money for it. I bet ppl will actually desire such an item..."

Genius.

If you guys are really interested, try Singapore Hermes.

For the sake of checking out how much and stock availability, i did asked Hermes Singapore when i was there 3 weeks ago and the belt is available at SGD 1,050.

Maybe it was coincidental that there was stock when i asked you may try.

the Hermes H is a nice belt. Classy & shouts luxury.
But actually due to this, i prefer to only wear it to casual functions like friends weddings & occasianally to clubs.
No where near any business related functions given it be at a hotel ballroom or business dinners. Its just screaming too loud 'i got a H on my waist'...

other designs only a true Hermes fag will know if u are wearing a Hermes.

and nobody want to buy the other design due too the price tag which is sweat.gif

Tbh all luxury good has imitations.

The H belt is getting more attention nowadays, so you can find a few imitation out there for sure.

How much, that's another question. laugh.gif

If you guys are really interested, try Singapore Hermes.

For the sake of checking out how much and stock availability, i did asked Hermes Singapore when i was there 3 weeks ago and the belt is available at SGD 1,050.

Maybe it was coincidental that there was stock when i asked you may try.
*
Is it the one on Orchard Road near Hilton ? I was there last week but no stock. Checked Hermes at Changi Terminal 2 no stock either. But they had an orange color buckle with black belt which is a bit too glaring or my liking.
Don't bother with Hermes Pavillion. I have been on the waiting list or 6 months and nothing yet they offered me the or with a thinner H instead. Not available at KLIA Hermes as well.

How can you check the H belt is original or not?
Other than bringing it to an outlet of course.

The last time i casually asked it was available in Changi Terminal 1.

If you guys are interested in variations of the H buckle, do head over to BSC. I think on the second floor there's this small boutique specialising in branded goods. You may find plenty of LV and Gucci shoes, some branded tees and i saw a few H buckle too. Not cheap, i think it was going for RM3.5K to RM5K depending on designs.

Thanks but personally I can't bring myself to go to these shops and pay so much more than what the boutique charges. And it is minus the feeling I get when I am in the Hermes or whatever branded boutique. Anyway I bought the Hermes cuff links ( double H ones ) instead last week. It is a lot more subtle than the belt.

Agreed, the whole idea of buying luxury items is the experience of buying them from the store, being treated like an important customer inside the store and paying the money and walking around with the paper bag.

Saw one at Hong Kong airport for HKD 6400 which is about RM 2500 last Saturday. Wanted to buy and tried it but the black belt is one size too small. I have to use the last hole so too risky. They had no other size for black but they do have for other colors so ended up not buying.
Damn, have to wait and continue looking.
