Just bought 55 pcs LED from house lighting Puchong. The sales girl told me NSB is much better than the YET/LEDEON something since the PCB is from Taiwan while the rest from China. Is it true?

For NSB 6" warm white around RM35 while 4" if not mistaken only Rm19 or 2x something. Yerp for landed property. That one is for my in law house, for mine i'm using OPPEL which is quite expensive. OPPEL 4" will cost around RM35 and 6" around RM50. One thing for sure the PCB (driver) for OPPLE is neat, clean and have more components than the other brand that i've survey.

just bought LED downlights. RM31.80 per piece with 2 years warranty. Choose LED coz my ceiling is already very low. Normal downlight will make the plaster ceiling too low.

hi jason1986, i will be using LED downlights as well as normal downlight will need lower plaster ceiling.
but i'm worry as normal downlight will just need to replace the bulb while LED downlight need to remove whole thing to repair or replace the whole thing and it seems that it will be spoilt within 1 - 2 years after reading here cry.gif

Hi BigSaver, may i know what's your feedback for OPPLE? How long have you used OPPLE?
Where did you buy OPPLE? I saw Lazada is selling however I wanted to try and buy from the shop.
Thank you.

OPPEL or OPPLE?

Anyway, we need to know the component rating before can make any conclusion, in electronic world, no such theory as more component = more quality. The problem lies on the component use whether can withstand the current and heat rating or not. For example, radial/axial part usually more forgiving compare to SMD part when comes to power/heat dissipation.

Anyway, last month reported I have bought 2 units of Nippon II 24W 6" for test,
last week i just bought another brand, 1 unit Vekocy 24W 6", so far from what i tested.

Brightness (Cold start): Nippon 20% > Vekocy (using LX meter apps to test, Nippon II around 53000lx vs Vekocy 43000lx)
Brightness (After temperature steady) : Nippon II still 20% > Vekocy, both unit drop to 51000lx vs 41000lx)
Brightness after 1 month usage (13 hours/day, only on Nippon II): Remained unchanged.
Heat (LED unit): Nippon II colder than Vekocy
Heat (LED driver): Nippon II hotter than Vekocy
Origin: Nippon II Taiwan, Vekocy China

Both LED driver are swappable, but after swapped the brightness ramained the same, so can be concluded LED driver is not the brightness different factor here.

Vekocy LED driver is based on MT7813 chip reference design (you can goggle yourself), while Nippon II i yet to have time to identify the driver due to SMD part used. But PCB quality wise, Nippon II seems better than Vekocy, however heat is greater for Nippon II.

So from this test actually Nippon II LED lamp + Vekocy LED driver is better combination in terms of efficiency.

Will try search more to strip and test, if you guys can sponsor me is more easier. tongue.gif

You can choose those square "normal downlight" but bulb vertical one. Normally need 2 bulb.

I compared and price not much difference, so just bought LED downlight instead.

So far looks quite ok. I put 5 for 100 square feet room. Very bright. 4 should be enough.

My concern is not really with changing the drivers/the light itself. My main concern is whether we can get the exact same model after the warranty ends if it indeed needs replacing.

Probably not. But if you don't mind some of the lights looking slightly different then should be ok, the cutout are similar for most and even if not plastering job is quite simple. Most of these generic designs look pretty much the same anyways.

That's why what u should do is buy 10 more units for spare, in case you need replacement.

I went lighting shop last weekend and notice that Philips have LED downlight as well and I'm' interested with it.
However I can't find LED downlight details in Philips Malaysia website.
I was told that philips LED downlight's driver is built in, so have to replace the whole thing if it spoilt.

Then for another lighting shop's housebrand LED downlight + external driver, the boss said normally will just need to replace driver if no light as the LED downlight itself hard to spoilt, is it true?

This company eLED downlight looks very promising

2.5W equivalent to 12W normal LED downlight

LUX reading also very good consider it's wattage. But very expensive, LED light and E27 housing cost RM80++ per unit

eLED

To start the ball rolling, I was quoted the below for my unit:

- LED Downlight (Inovo 4x4 inch 16w) 5 units RM350
- LED wall & ceiling lights (Inovo 6x6 inch 20w) 11 units RM770
- Deka fan (5 blade with remote) 5 units RM1150
- Door bell (unbranded) RM80
- Grille for front door RM1200

The LED lights comes with 1 year warranty, the Deka fan 3 yrs warranty.
So anyone here had used the Inovo LED lights b4? Hows the life span of it? Is the price quoted to me above reasonable? Pls share any other quotes that u have so we can compare here... was also wondering should i use the conventional bulb lights rather than LED.... any suggestions pls?
