Whenever i plug my usb modem (UMG1831) into my tl-mr3040 the lights keep blinking and i cant access the configuration page.....

i tested them individually and it work fine. I called the tp-link hotline twice where the 1st CS suggested a modem incompatibility and 2nd just duno what is it. Both have some heavy accent which makes it hard to understand their english ><

The 1st cs did gave me a software to create a bin file but i cant get it done due to some factors.

Before calling them i have check the latest firmware and compatible list which mine is not there.

Hopefully i am asking in the right section, is this a hardware problem with the router or just modem incompatibility?

edited: problem solved when i read about someone else problem in the tp-link forum, where his router only works with battery. I figure it has to be something similar so i put in my battery and it works! next i put in the ac power and it works.... finally it was own stupidity that causes all this as apparently it need at least a min of 1.0A to work and i was being stubborn to power it up with a usb port..... there goes 1hr+ of my life tongue.gif

have u set up the password?

If yes, then use WinSCP to flash in new fw. It should solve the problem.

enable or disable the wifi dont need to restart though...  hmm.gif

did u double check your setting ?

For the wifi setting i adjusted the following

ESSID > channel on auto > Wireless security > country code

the mode is on 802.11 g + n

ht mode in 20mhz

network at lan

mode at access point

chuah enrell is with the latest firmware, which doesnt require anything except setting up the APN right?

edited: there is also a problem with the firmware where they detect the wrong usb port... so might need to manually change to it

My MR3040V1 can detect everything nicely but i did set up the apn

and it stills goes into reboot loop when i enable my wif... i suspect is hardware di... cannot be so many problem 1....

I am thinking of buying another 3g modem just to test this out

and since i ordered the MB prepaid plan ~ i might need a secondary modem too tongue.gif
