This modem uses a completely different driver than anything that we support. It is a "HSO" device and needs an HSO driver (which is available for OpenWRT) and a new method of connecting.

Without a similar device to test with, it is almost impossible to create the scripts needed to make this work.

did u set 5 second to the time out section in openwrt ? 

if u flash to openwrt barrier breaker, then no need to set, it is auto, as long as u set keep the connection alive with restart.//

Dairyman has made 3 new builds with the DDNS, Time Sync and RNDIS driver removed.

All other Huntsman features are intact.

The build is completely up to date with both SVN and packages being updated this morning.

There's a brand new Luci GUI. 

This limited test release fixes the Keep alive function

Try it and see if the stability problems are improved.

For those who Using Rooter which often encounter DC,

just remember to set under Luci interface ->modem -> connection -> authentication -> PAP -> save
for those who using Rooter which prefer it dial your modem faster like Openwrt Altitude adjustment, just manually set your Data port & communication port

under Luci interface ->modem -> Support -> set data port & communication port -> Save & apply

( if u know your data & communication port , then proceed set it and after all just remember to peforms router reboot , it will dial your modem faster like Openwrt AA dialing speed )

it is really depends,

if u need extra function wise, Rooter will be good, because it is pack with extra function for 3G/4G , due to Rooter is heavy modify and compatibility of USB modem is better

if u just need a plain simple stable connection or if u plan to QoS your connection of each device , then stock firmware will be good for you,..

our usb modem is design to save power go to sleep mode like our computer if there is a period of time no data traffic flow,.

in this case, best is you flash to openwrt 

stock firmware dont have keep connection alive function

Sell it to a modem collector cheap cheap lo 

You knoe who is that collector ?

Or would you swap it with his beaming new E398 U15 + some cash add on ?
