Does it work well for your wifi connection ? improve ? stable ?  hmm.gif
*
Just reduces the wifi range so can only use in my room laugh.gif Also reduces the chance of snooping neighbors randomly trying to connect or ddos my signal sweat.gif Connection stability unaffected within my room icon_rolleyes.gif

Maybe reducing the Tx-Power will reduce power needed and reduce heat hmm.gif

2 days ago my 2nd MR3420 (v1.3) kaput. PC connected to Lan Port 4 but somehow got 'ghost' at Lan Port 2. Both ports blinking. If no cable connected at all the port, Lan Port 2 still blinking blink.gif Can connect to the internet but sometimes can't access the router page. When I was still able to access the router page, quickly did a system reset and then flashed to stock firmware. After flashing stock, can access TP-Link router page but only once...after refresh, gone...can't access anymore. Tested one more time last night to double confirm router really kaput and today went for 1-1 Warranty Exchange.

Currently using the other MR3420 (also previously 1-1 warranty exchange) sweat.gif

Service Center Address: 4-20, 4th floor, Plaza Low Yat, off Jalan Bukit Bintang, 55100 Kuala Lumpur.

Went to service center; explained the LAN Port problem, showed receipt and straight away got a replacement MR3420 (v1.0). No questions asked, everything done within 5 minutes nod.gif FYI, Service Centre lunch hour is 2-3pm...

This requires the use of TTL serial console cable and open the casing to do some soldering...
Not for the faint of heart or of the less adventurous. wink.gif
Better take it to shop for RMA, or ask someone expert to do it.

BTW, he could've sold it already.
*
I actually got purchase the serial cable but end up never use coz I could not find my soldering iron..End up just go RMA sweat.gif

So chuahcs now recommned stock firmware rather than openwrt for mr3420?
*
I've also found that stock firmware is much more stable rather than OpenWrt.

I use OpenWRT mainly for the advanced features that stock don't have such as DNSMasq...

I'm seriously thinking switching back to stock... sweat.gif

My power adaptor for MR3420 router just failed today.  cry.gif
Bought from CZone LYP from May 2012. Already exceed 1 year warranty from shop. However, TPLink gives 2 year warranty, isn't it? I still have the original receipt.

EDIT:

Service Center Address: 4-20, 4th floor, Plaza Low Yat, off Jalan Bukit Bintang, 55100 Kuala Lumpur.

Service center in LYP? really so convenient? Anyone go for RMA before? How's the customer service?
*
Customer service very good. Just make sure bring receipt. Explain the problem. Once CS verify, get replacement icon_rolleyes.gif

you have experienced before? get replacement asap or have to wait for months? do you think only the power adaptor will be replaced or the whole set  brows.gif  ?
Sunday open?

My one mmg the unit 'bricked', so just change the router only. Replacement on the spot icon_rolleyes.gif

Not sure, I usually (replaced 2 units already whistling.gif ) go on Weekdays only.
