It is a good observation and may well indicate a problem. smile.gif

What's the bug?

Using 40Mhz bandwidth allows max throughput.

Seems all is normal.

We don't know how the free space is calculated. smile.gif

All we know is that it needs 100K free to load.

the wireless Auto channel  function always stuck @ channel 1 no matter how many time reboot or whether it is 20MHz or 40MHz channel from above/below

second channel from above and below both cannot manually select wireless channel or else it will end up with zero connection response if u set wrong channel  notworthy.gif

Hi

I use manual channel selection and don't see that problem.

one thing different is using the stock firmware on Auto channel, it will auto switch to channel which less interference channel for you,..

but on rooter wise, it didnt,.. no matter how many time i reboot it always stuck at same channel  sweat.gif
*
That seems to be the case. cry.gif

I'd rather do it manually. thumbup.gif

inSSIDer shows exactly what is happening.

If you have neighbouring interfering channels, pick the channel with the lowest level and camp right on top of it, for the lowest interference.

PS the LUCI interface is selectable in recent versions and will swap to the one I displayed in the next release I think.

Change it manually by going to System->System->Language and Style and changing the Design. It won't happen until you reboot the router after you save the change.

Huntsman 2013-06-16a is released.

The long awaited SMS messaging arrives. Network Status information is now only active when visiting the Network Status page. The modem is only sent signal commands when you are on the Network Status page and there is a delay while the data is gathered when you first go to the page. This eases the load on the modem and the possibility of modem communication conflicts. Enjoy!

Notes:
The SMS feature may not work correctly for all SIMs and modems. Please advise any SMS bug reports. To make flash RAM room for the SMS feature 4Mb routers only have IPv4 support in this version. 8Mb still support IPv6.

Current reported issues with this release:
Luci may lock up "problem loading page", but internet connection is fine. It appears to be a consequence of OpenWRT Version R36713. A fix is available and a new release is on the way shortly (2013-06-17).

Downloaded 2013-06-16a for MR3420 and 1043ND

For 1043ND, onced flashed , its 2013-06-16a as expected.

But for MR3420 even though you flashed the newly downloaded file, its shows in the interface that  it is 2013-06-03 although you have the sms feature  doh.gif

Huntsman firmware dated 2013-06-18 is available now.

Thanks, been a bit busy. notworthy.gif

2013-06-18 There are no new features as it is a "stability" release. It has the latest OpenWRT updates in it and both the SVN and Packages have been updated. 'getsig' has been modified (again) so that it runs all the time while the modem is plugged in and the Network Status page will display data without any delay. The SMS Messaging has been modified so it reads the messages much faster. The old GUI for Luci has been removed, as this seemed to be the cause of the web interface disappearing. Hopefully this cures some of the reported stability problems that have cropped up recently.

Enjoy!

I suggest that if you have not done so already, a move to 2013-06-18 is a good one. The old GUI was causing a number of problems including errors on the SMS page.

BTW Happy to hear any reports of the new SMS feature.

There will be a new release soon with a few new features and DM has miraculously found a bit more flash ram space, so iPv6 will be back for all routers.

I can send SMS from MR3020 with E398 but I can't seem to view any SMS received. Anyone manage to get it work?

Interesting.

It will take up to 25 seconds or so for the first read message to arrive.

The SMS Messaging is (hopefully) fixed and is quicker and more stable. It now reads concatenated messages correctly.

Keep Alive now has user definable options so you have control over every aspect of it. There is the option to use a second server to ping so, if it fails on the first, it will try the second. It has the option to use modem power toggling if the router supports it. If power toggling isn't supported it will do a WAN restart. The router reboot option will also toggle the modem power before rebooting if it is supported. Power toggling is supported by all TP-Link routers except the WNR4900 and WR1043ND. It is not supported by any Netgear router.

Modem power toggling (turning the USB 5v off and on again) is a key new feature and will hopefully overcome the nastiest modem lock-up. smile.gif

Over to you guys for testing.

Upgraded to the latest version. SMS working fine and the rest seem okay so far. We'll see if there is any modem lock-up issue with modem toggle option turned on.
Added on 28 June 2013:
Is there anyway to input our own Scheduled Task? seems like the addition options for Modem Connection Settings is overwriting any additional jobs that i tried to schedule. sad.gif
*
So SMS send and receive are good for you?

I'll ask re task scheduling.

DM offers the following comments:

1. The way the scripts used here work it overwrites the cronjob file when you change the Keep Alive interval or the Bandwidth Monitor values.

So it will remove any Scheduled Tasks you had entered.

Hadn't thought about that.

I'll see if there is another way to do this that leaves that file alone.

2. SMS Delete is really slow. I mean really slow.

It has to place the delete command in the queue and wait for it to get executed, then wait for the loop to go around again and detect the change in message numbers and read the messages again.

It can take 20 secs for it to take place.

Try and delete too many without waiting for each one will step on the other commands and who knows what happens then.

I wouldn't expect it to crash like that but it isn't surprising.
