Firstly, I am former chinese independent student which graduated 2011 for my form 6 level.

So, I am still under PPSMI that time. Not sure how when PPSMI system abolished.

Note: Different chinese independent high school have different teaching method, i only said out my school teaching method.

1) Not sure how when PPSMI system abolished.

2) Form 1-2 Math and Science all are in Chinese, but Form 3 will teach in English as we need to take for PMR exam.(Note: Not all chinese independent high school take PMR/SPM, as usually take UEC instead of PMR/SPM) That time Math and Science still in English. Form 4-Form 5 Math, Physic, Chemistry all teach in English, only Bio will teach in both Chinese and English due to UEC exam.

3) I think yes, as Form 3, Form 4 & Form 5 is depends on government exam.

4) Not sure how when PPSMI system abolished.

student is unable to register for SPM exam unless he has taken PMR.

do all CIS students sit for PMR ?

No, is depends which CIS that you study.

Example: Chong Hwa Independent High School Kuala Lumpur compulsory take PMR and JUEC on Form 3, SPM on Form 5 & SUEC on Form 6(If you are willing to study Form 6)

If student don't finish Senior Middle 3, he / she don't get graduation certificate from the CIS, only a school leaving declaration.
If student / parent aims were to attain SPM qualification at Senior Middle 2 (again, this is only applicable for some CIS) and then leave to pursue other university entrance qualification without sitting for UEC, I wonder why the student go into CIS in the first place (student can devote more time to prepare for SPM in normal Sekolah Menengah).

Yes, you are right. The student only will get school leaving declaration if dont want study Senior Middle 3.

Yes, you are right too. Maybe they think CIS got good discipline then Sekolah Menengah. But, CIS need to handle JUEC and PMR on junior level, so will busy than Sekolah Menengah.
