Lenovo Ideapad G780, i5-3210M + Nvidia GT630M + (1600x900)@RM2299[3.0kg], 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm); W7HP Hello all. This is kinda cheap given the laptop size, compared to rivals. Im not up to date with IT nowadays, last purchase dated 3-4 yrs ago.. anyone can advise is it good? Im using it for online ie: bloomberg and related activities. Sometimes will have light gaming. Will the spec not good/sufficient enough for my utilization?

QUOTE(raymondtong94 @ Apr 6 2013, 11:27 PM) they are good enough. since you are into light gaming, you dont need a powerful GPU, so save the rest of the money and throw in a SSD. plus, this massive 17" screen is capable of watching HD movies. Ideapad G780, i5-3210M + Nvidia GT630M + (1600x900)@RM2299[3.0kg], 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm); W7HP I check thru review online, lenovo limit CPU boost up to 2.5 GHz only.. (http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Lenovo-G780-Notebook.83885.0.html) Not so sure for such claim. Boost may needed if i play FIFA or some car racing game/graphic games? Nowadays game easily exceed 1GB.. last time my game is CS and F1, rarely reach 500mb nia... hahahaha

QUOTE(raymondtong94 @ Apr 9 2013, 11:29 AM) the I5-3210M originally clocked at 2.5GHz. only turbo boost overclock the processor to 3.1GHz modern games now depended on graphics card (which the G780 has a GT630M graphics card in it), not the processor except if you use intergrated graphics. so the boost function is not needed. and yeah, games nowadays are in the size of 1GB and above. so far, the largest size i ever heard is 20GB for single game without expansion packs/DLC. I see.. u really teach me alot.. 20GB for a game must be for serious player type of game.... Thanks for your feedback anyway bro.

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Apr 21 2014, 06:11 PM) Hey man~ The updating of the thread is slow at best Still, I would like to thank forumers kind enough to share new lineups of notebooks Most of the time I just update when I feel like it, or when I notice there are new models when I go visit computer stores However, the lineups of the more popular brands are quite up-to-date If you need recommendations, just head on to the recommendations thread ya (if not already) Everyone deserves credit. But ucompiled most of it giving us ease of survey. Great job.
