so my brother bought a Vostro 5470 and he experienced problems with the touchpad features. an alternative fix for this is use ASUS Smart Gesture software.

Hi Raymond, did your bro encounter other issue and which variant did he buy?

I have been to a PC shop in One Utama and came across Dell Vostro 5470-20452G(1.54kg) RM2,249

Seems like the price is higher than anywhere else, at least it is more expensive than Tech Hypermart (RM2,069).

I have read the last 10 pages and got to know that there are two types of Vostro 5470, one is laptop the other is Ultrabook. Any chance the ultrabook already available in Malaysia market by now?

I will probably getting this (if no one suggest other better alternative in the same price range) from Tech HyperMart or Dell official website but here are the things I want to change and wonder which one of them can do for me:

1. Change the ram from 4gb to 8gb (I know its single slot)
2. Change the OS to windows 7 as I havent used windows 8 before and dont feel comfortable with it from the look (apparently from Tech Hypermart DOS version is available)
3. Possibly change the wireless card to Realtek =P
4. Change the HDD to a working brand of SSD? (anyone tested out which brand is supported?

Basically these are the issues in Vostro 5470 I collected from this thread.

Or maybe I should buy the 5460 or to find the highest spec of 5470 as suggested by someone?

there would be HSPA+ 21.6Mbps chipset Huawei MU736 version
Acer Iconia W4-821 SRP RM1399

http://www.ncs.com.my/index.php?productID=2665
http://www.ncs.com.my/index.php?productID=2601

18.6 Wh 4960 mAh 3.75 V 2-cell Li-ion battery pack
25 Wh 3400 mAh 3.7 V 2-cell Li-polymer battery pack

UPDATE
the battery info from ncs.com.my for iconia w4 wifi ONLY is apparently copy from iconia w3-810 specs.

Don't think its worth it, the specs' are pretty low for the price... and not to mention you might have to put up with Asus Malaysia's "superb" warranty support should anything go wrong hmm.gif
If you have a budget of RM3 yet you want a relatively light notebook, try looking for bro Oscar for the following:
15.6"
Dell
Inspiron 15R, i7-4500U + AMD HD8850M (GDDR5) @RM2499[2.32kg], 8GB, 1TB(5400rpm), Linux, 65WHr; W8SL@RM2699
Inspiron 15R, i7-4500U + AMD HD8850M (GDDR5) + (1366x768, Touch)@RM3099[2.32kg], 8GB, 1TB(5400rpm), W8SL, 65WHr

See whether he still has stock or not brows.gif Contact him here: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=216...1751731&fref=ts
* Prices in RRP
* extend warranty to 3 years with remaining budget

Didn't summarize here haha... didn't think people would be interested also hmm.gif
The current batch of Alienwares are disappointing haha...
Bro Oscar suggested me to sell my M14x and get a AW 14 laugh.gif Don't think I can do it... too ugly and chunky for me T___T

I wish that they would at least try to make it thinner and lighter than the M14x.. sad.gif Or at least bring back the 15 versions hmm.gif

As for the SSHD, a bit disappointed too... could've just sticked to mSATA... what caused the change? Cut cost?
