Hello all! My 4 year old Acer Aspire 4937G looks like is finally heading the grave and in need of some help for laptop recommendations

1. Preferred Brand - Not so choosy on this, but would prefer to avoid Acer again due to frequent failure in hardware
2. Budget - 1.3k to 1.5k
3. Usage - Used for programming (Visual Studio, MATLAB and in Ubuntu) with some light gaming (e.g. Minecraft, Warcraft 3, CS)
4. Preferred laptop/screen size - 13" - 15" (not so choosy too on the size)

I'm not aiming for a very high specs laptop, a low-mid range like an i3 processor is good enough for me smile.gif Also due to light gaming only, I'm in a dilemma of whether to get a Intel integrated graphics card or not.

And..also preferably a laptop that can last as long as my previous one tongue.gif

Thanks!

Thanks! I was thinking is a graphic card really necessary for my case? I'm trying to use an Acer Aspire 4710 with integrated graphics to play Warcraft 3, although some lags occuring but I dont play much so it wouldn't annoy me much.

HD4000 can handle Warcraft 3 and CS smile.gif But some love from Nvidia never do any harm laugh.gif
With Optimus, the discrete GPU will only kick in when needed. Battery performance with HD4000 is good (while you do programming on the go), and when you game (plug in the power please tongue.gif ), the Nvidia GPU still give you better experience.

Ohhhh thats awesome! tongue.gif will consider one of these options! Thanks!
