3. Usage - For my mom - age 60. My father may used it too ... he's IT savvy. People may asked why buy expensive laptop .. she's not gonna play games or watch movies. However, due to my own mistake, greediness on technology update, and delay ... I've keep postponed to purchase the laptop for her since 2009. Therefore, the budget is going to compensate on the durability, comfortableness, warranty, or anything that will suit old people.

4. Preferred laptop/screen size - Please advice. Her eyes is much better than me. Old woman preferred big screen or small screen? Not much on portability as I believed the laptop will stay intact on the desk

Don't spend money on GPU since your parents most likely won't need it. So with your budget, go for good build quality, nice screen (IPS), SSD for best user experience
