This one is easy since its the only option in the market brows.gif
15.6"
Acer V3-571G-736b8G1T, i7-3630QM + Nvidia GT730M(DDR3) + (1920x1080 IPS) @RM2899[2.6kg], 8GB, 1TB, W8

*use remaining budget to extend warranty to 3 years~
*
15" is too big for me shocking.gif no smaller & lighter lappy with ips ?

THere's no real point in getting the UX32 if you are not into gaming at all nod.gif
For 1080p movies the UX31A ZenBook would be the better pick but its unfortunately out of your budget hmm.gif

For your budget, try going for this one instead:
13"
HP [Ultrabook] Envy SpectreXT 13-2215TU, i5-3317U + Intel HD4000 + 128GB SSD@RM2899[1.39kg], 4GB, W8,backlit keyboard

*Use remaining money to extend warranty to 3 years~
Putting in an SSD will not void the warranty as long as you don't damage the notebook within the process nod.gif
As for the complaints, read here: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2337458

1st of all i would like to give my thanks for having such a tered like this. really helps those who planning to get a lappy.

1. Preferred Brand- asus, hp, dell, lenovo, fujitsu.
2. Budget -RM 2k-2.3
3. Usage- moderate gaming (skyrim alike games), watching movies
4. 13' or 14'

i am also concern of the heat emission of the laptop/ultrabook as well as the warranty?

Hihi, welcome to the thread notworthy.gif

Well, if you are concerned about warranty, then there's only one pick laugh.gif
14"
Dell Inspiron 14R (Special Edition), i5-3210M + Nvidia GT640M(28nm Kepler)@RM2049[2.38kg], 4GB, 500GB(7200rpm), W7HP/W8

* Use remaining money to extend warranty to 3 years on-site for peace of mind~
All notebooks when gaming will generate a significant amount of heat, so its important to provide good ventilation for the notebook, and also to have good after sales support should anything fails icon_rolleyes.gif

The Y500 is still the better choice because of the dual GPU configuration nod.gif

Acer Iconia W700, i3-2365M + Intel HD3000 + 64GB SSD + (1920x1080; touch)@RM1999, 4GB, W8; BT keyboard

Not really suitable for all your usage as well laugh.gif
You might wanna ditch the IPS requirement, get a good notebook, and invest on an IPS external monitor

Yeah, other brands do offer warranty extension, but almost none of them are on-site (technician come to you and fix your notebook)

Lenovo Z480, i5-3230M + Nvidia GT640M@RM1999, 4GB, 1TB(5400rpm) W8, colors: grey/red/blue
