For the M(obile) CPU, 3rd gen i3 outperform 2nd gen i3 around 5-10% (you will not notice it on CPU related task that you usage call for smile.gif ).
But some of the model suggested earlier use 3rd gen i3 U(ltra Low Voltage) CPU, which is slightly less powerful compared to 2nd gen i3 M CPU, but more power efficient (good for battery performance).

Yes, you are right in that the main difference between 3rd gen and 2nd gen is the IGPU. HD 4000 is a looooot better than HD 3000 (~30-40%) in term of performance. But don't worry, HD 3000 can handle your usage requirement. And both the IGPU are pretty energy efficient.

3. Usage- Heavy gaming
4. Preferred screen size- 15.4 (large enough for gaming satisfaction without sacrificing portability, etc.)

I may need some personal opinions on which brand to pick, which model and the reasons why (brainwash me). Also, a sturdy build will also be nice since I tend to do stupid mistakes with my belongings ._.

You can't afford sturdy build laugh.gif icon_rolleyes.gif (And sturdy laptop is usually not build for gaming laugh.gif )
If you get the Lenovo, spend RM250+ to upgrade warranty to 3 years on site.
If you get the Asus, pray very very hard that the hardware never fail laugh.gif

disaster! called Dell about the status of my ordered 15R and they tell me that model is out of stock even though it is 2-3 days estimated delivery. and since they don't know when it is going to be in stock again. i told them to cancel my order and luckily they have not charged my credit card yet. so right now, the asus A55 is mighty good. will likely be buying that tomorrow from digital mall. does anyone know if they accept credit cards with no charge?

Interesting in buying a laptop or ultrabook.

1. Preferred brand - more well known brands (no MSI, Sager for me)
2. Budget - max 6800 (im currently aiming at a macbook retina but im searching for its closest yet cheaper rivals)
3. Usage - work overseas (lot of carrying around) and postgraduate studies overseas, movies, music, internet
4. Preferred laptop/screen size - 15.6 FULL HD (will consider 13.3 FHD with the right specs)
5. Weight - less than 2.2 kg
6. Other - fairly new (less than 6 months in market or anything that is about to be launched within the next 3 months)
7. Comes with SSD stock preferably (not a good computer person so the process of swapping HDD for SSD for me could be a bit of problem)
8. comes with a nvidia graphic card (640m at least, or anything cos might wanna play GTA5 when pc version comes out)
9. international warranty (going to holland)

Anyone buy a laptop with a credit card lately? Do the sellers still charge a handling fee?
