from what i understand.. downclocking also will cause CPU, VGA or whatever u downclock to heat up...

how come? hmmmm..... try to think of it as the voltage, supplied, not being used up... if u downclock. downclocking it doesn't use up all the power.

for surfing and some office work dont need 3.46ghz brute force processor power. so u end up wasting ur energy/electrical bill. i only run my proc @1ghz and still can play some game. best way to downclock is using 3rd party software like rightmark and when u need some power u can load ur preset profile.
