I use my y580 laptop to run gta 4 episode of liberty city, after I run bechmark test display adapter show that I am using Intel Integrated 4000 Graphics, can sifus tell me how to change it
I mean change to nvidia graphic.

the lenovo y580 comes with nvidia optimus. they will auto change the graphic card when not in use. however, does your gta 4 lags when play?

Yes I feel lag and I just on it, I didnt on for many hours.
I set medium for all graphics setting.

Just force the game to run with dedicated GPU

use the step above. you can force optimus off in nvidia control panel.

try this?:
Go to the NVIDIA Control Panel by right clicking on your desk top and clicking on "NVIDIA Control Panel".

In the default screen that pops up (it should be "manage 3D settings", and the "Program Settings" tab should be automatically selected), under "1. Select a program to customize:" hit the "Add" button.

From here, navigate to the folder where your steam games are located.

Select the folder for the game you want to use your NVIDIA card for, and find the .exe for that game (it's usually right in the main game folder). Select it and hit open.

Then, under "2. Select the preferred graphics processor for this program:" open the drop-down menu and select "High-performance NVIDIA processor".

Finally, hit apply in the far bottom right corner.

I set all setting as very high and I run benchmark test, it lags and still the video adapter show that Im running intel graphic......

Try other games.
Perhaps is the game problem.

What benchmark tools did you run?
Have you tried 3DMark11? What's the results?

Now I fix the problem by taking out the battery
Now I can run the game without lagging, but is that anyway to fix this problem?

Look to me, ur Y580 is run on battery although ur ac power is on. Running on battery may have some lag issue.

Set the power management to Lenovo Dynamic Graphics

No different eh.....

Are you sure you use the "Lenovo Energy App"? Not the usual window power profile.

I set in the energy management at the right bottom to lenovo dynamic graphic.
