Hi guys

I am in a process of applying for Accenture Graduate Consulting Opportunities that was advertised maybe few months ago (actually idk when). I did the digital assessment (pymetrics), and next step is they want me to do the video interview for CD&O position.

I had spent few dayssssss to know what does CD&O about. I knew from somewhere that it stand for Client Delivery & Operation, but i dont know if it is Solution or Consultant workforce. Based on the reviews, Solution workforce is hell! so I maybe want to stay away from that.

if any of you guys could explain more on the CD&O, it would be much appreciated!

fyi, I am an overseas engineering graduate who looking forward to change my career path. know very less about accenture or other consulting firm. I dont know if i could make it to another stage, but it is worth to give it a try.

Thank you guys! smile.gifsmile.gif

Hey, I am in the same boat but different career path of course. Can't really comment on CD&O as it is not familiar to me. Do note that reviews you read on third party platforms/word of mouth may be biased in the sense that people who have opposite views may not necessarily speak out about their positive experiences in CD&O. You might only be exposed to one side of the spectrum. Hope you take those reviews with a grain of salt, best to clarify your doubts with the recruiter/management when you actually get the chance to attend physical interviews or speak to them personally.

I applied, passed the pymetrics assessment, and finally submitted my video interview (Hirevue) last Saturday.

If you are a freshie, don't worry about anything technical. The interview I had was completely behavioural based, like how you handle team work, your achievements etc..

Still waiting for their response smile.gif

All the best with the rest of your job application journey! Are you applying for a fresh graduate role as well?

Seems like my application process is not the norm since I had to go through pymetrics and two face-to-face interviews (with a senior consultant and then a senior manager) before I was asked to do the video behavioral interview.

Wow! Haha I didn't know the process could be so different. The chances seem to be in your favour though thumbup.gif

Yes I am applying for a fresh grad role in data analytics.

How did your face-to-face interviews go? I am assuming you interviewed at one of their overseas offices or perhaps through Skype? How is their response time? Do they get back to you fairly quickly (less than a week, 2 weeks, etc.)?

Oops I failed to mention that I was fortunate enough to get the job doh.gif

The position I applied for was the Graduate Analyst role and because of my background, I was sorted into Management Consulting without any input on my part haha My face-to-face interviews were done in KL, which I assumed were locations that were convenient to the interviewer.

As for response times, it varied but typically it was at least a week between each stage. It was about a two-week wait between my first and second interview. I actually applied late November in 2017 and only got the job two weeks ago. But, as these big firms go, your mileage may vary.

Data Analytics huh? Did not know there was such a position! I hope you hear good news soon!

Yay!! Congratulations on your offer rclxm9.gif

Agreed, they do vary. Thanks for the insight with the response times smile.gif

Till now I've not completed my video interview  icon_idea.gif

Received this from them:

"We have previously sent you an invitation to participate in our recruiting process and also sent a reminder. Given we have not heard back from you, we assume you’ve decided to pursue other options or would like to place your application on hold for the time being.

If you would like to continue with your current application or re-apply in the future, please don’t hesitate to contact our recruiting team."

how's your application process? Did you hear back from them after your video interview?

Hey eddydo, sorry for the late response I haven't been on LYN for quite some time.

This is my process so far (applying from Sydney Australia for KL position):
1. Submitted online application through careers portal;

2. Pymetrics testing (20 Feb 2018);

3. Video interview invite #1 (I didn't do it because of hectic uni schedule, 21 Feb 2018);

4. Video interview invite #2 (I did it after 1/2 weeks of receiving the second email, 10 Mar 2018);

5. After more than 3 weeks of no-response, I submitted an enquiry (4 April 2018) through the official US website (https://www.accenture.com/us-en/contact-us). Note here that my first attempt was to email the HR directly but I received an automated reply "The email address you have used goes to an account which is not monitored", hence I went to the aforementioned website to submit an official enquiry. Even though the website is for USA, the form allows you to choose the country/branch.

6. Received an email from HR in Accenture Malaysia the very next day (5 April 2018) asking me to explain why I wanted to return to KL and my expected graduation date.

7. Received an email from HR today (20 April 2018) to schedule for a Skype Interview with a manager on 23 April 2018.

My advice to you is to contact them through the portal https://www.accenture.com/us-en/contact-us under "Job Seekers" to explain your circumstances. Hopefully they'll give you another shot at the video interview.

Cheers.

All the best with the upcoming interview! Lots like you had to go through a lot  rclxub.gif

Thanks unknownvin, I think it's because of my location so I can't attend any physical interviews.

I'm not sure about something though, hopefully you can clarify this for me since you got your offer (congrats again haha!). The ad I applied to was the "Graduate Consulting" programme, but HR's email reply indicated that my application was for "Analyst" instead. Reading through the Accenture threads here I'm assuming there's nothing wrong on HR's side.

So if I'm applying as a fresh grad into the consulting line, I'll start off as an analyst right? I'm trying to prepare for the interview, but I don't want to talk about my wanting to go into "consulting" when I should really be talking about my interests in being an "analyst".

Thank you in advance:)

Fresh grads in consulting almost always start off as analysts (the exception being if you're an MBA grad). You really should be talking about why you want to go into consulting rather than purely being keen to be an analyst. After all, you're not going to be an analyst forever in consulting. You'll eventually move on to be a consultant, then a senior consultant, then a manager, and so on (I should note here that I'm in a Big 4 rather than in Accenture, so the career paths might differ slightly).

All the best with your interview!

Right-o, thanks for the clarification _nick. Yeah, that's what I have in mind as well. So far I've assumed that the "analyst" part is due to my being a fresh grad (bachelors) and that I'll eventually move onto "consultant" once I up the ranks. I'm happy as long as I'm on the right track onto consulting (non-academic). I was just worried that Accenture might have something different in mind, but what you are saying does make sense. I'll focus on expressing my interests in consulting then smile.gif

All the stuff I know about ranks/career paths (consulting) in the Big 4 are based on what I've been told during networking events in -Sydney-. I'm actually rather curious to know if things are different in Malaysia. In Australia, fresh grads are employed by the Big 4 under a "Graduate Programme" which ends once you get promoted to senior consultant. I met a civil engineer doing analytics consulting, who joined PwC Sydney as a fresh grad Jan last year and just got promoted to senior consultant last month. Is it the same case with the Big 4 in Malaysia? (Apologies, this might actually be better put in the Big 4 thread.) From what you're saying, perhaps "analyst" + "consultant" in Big 4 Malaysia is the equivalent of a grad programme in AU?

Thanks in advance.
