Hope you guys will get your dream phone soon. After about a week with it, I must say this is not a great phone. It's a fantabulous phone. Best I've owned.

Pros
-blazing quick android 4.2
-crisp and clear beautiful screen with natural colors
-solid build quality with a sexy back
-not a bad camera after getting to know how to focus a picture properly. And photosphere being the party trick of course. And it works
-basically, everything about the phone and UI not listed as cons below

Cons
-major power hog. Better get a car charger or powerbank with you
-runs quite hot with continuous usage
-speaker located on back of phone. May not hear ring tone or playback with phone on its back
-vibration intensity is weaker than your pulse. Could easily miss a notification
-led notification is too dim and intervals too slow.
-touch responsiveness occasionally is stuttered, usually inputs that need bigger swipes

That's all I can recall for now but believe me, you, this is a darn good phone and the best Android experience so far.

Hmm, I wonder if there are any transparent hard casings for the Nexus 4. I don't wanna hide the gorgeous back, but at the same time only applying a layer of protective film makes me feel insecure..

Just about the same, but i accessed to the internet intensively, 85% brightness.

On 3G? Or whole day wifi? If wifi only, this battery usage is very bad.

why kind of setup do you guys have? are you guys fully stock kernel and os with the battery drain? If i am not mistaken, there is a wakelock bug in the official build.

if your bootloader is already unlocked, you can just flash  franco's stable kernel without rooting. xda folks said this fixed the battery drain.

you dont have to root to flash a kernel. you need to unlock the bootloader, this however will wipe your device's data completely. after that, you are left with a stock unrooted rom with an unlocked bootloader. you can then flash the kernel via fastboot.

but, if you want to get back official OTA, you need to reflash google's stock kernel. all these can be done without rooting.

but if it was me, i'll just unlock bootloader + root + flash Minco AOSP build very close to stock, just a little bit add in here and there

i remember there is one member post the link to check the nexus imei number where it from. anyone can help?

Also, the stock at The Nexus Store/Hotspot comes with 4.2 and upon upgrade, goes to 4.2.1 so far. The Nexus Store/Hotspot LYP may allow you to log in into their Wifi hotspot which is VPN-ed to US VPN to allow upgrade to 4.2.2 on the spot while you have retrieved your preordered N4 at the store itself.

Developer units only will get 4.2.2 now. Commercial consumer channel units will get it when they release an OTA update for it. For the time being, 4.2.1 is the latest.

Well. If all already has done. No problem than. U can either flash kernel using fastboot or recovery. I would suggest flash thru recovery. Easier. Now
1.download the kernel into ur phone.
2.Reboot into recovery.
3.go to install install zip from sdcard>choose zip from sdcard>0>
4.select the kernel and flash it.
5.wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, fix permission if needed.
5.reboot system now.
