QUOTE(1dollar @ Jul 17 2013, 04:16 PM) Sweet reel to start and begin with. yeap first time bc user, last time using spinning only, want to try something new, actually being advice by friends to try promax.First time BC user??? You knpow the basic rules of brake settings and spool tension right ?? As for lines,.. depending on what area you fish more high possible snag area? top water? Cranking deep lures? Most of the time when we crank on unfamiliar terrain,.. we spend a lot of lures and time fighting underwater structure that will cost us our lure. Stronger line might stand higher chance to haul up small branches or rubbish. I wouldnt suggest anything more than 20lbs braided. If i were you, I prefer to spool 15lbs then use a 20-40lbs leader. What line to use,.. again,. its all about preferences... I go for Sufix 832, Sufix performance braid, Fireline. Sufix is costly,.. but losing more lures will cost bigger hole in wallet,.. hence I wont save on lines. Just like Car tyres,.. it save lives,... dont buy cheap ones. Is it braided line is more suitable than normal string line for bc, afraid braided is hard to manage when accouter backlash. |

QUOTE(acheong7 @ Jul 18 2013, 03:16 PM) first time BC user ... if decide to use braid, choose thicker braid, easier to manage ... 20lb is good enough That what i thought, neway just bought ichiban 20lbs mono, will try it over the weekendor could opt to try mono first, then switch to braid when you've gotten used to it |

QUOTE(inv @ Jul 18 2013, 03:28 PM) Imho, backlash from braid is easier to clear compared to mono. QUOTE(1dollar @ Jul 29 2013, 01:58 PM) let me know if you going, i wanna follow and explore the area. i know several spot near unisel, but we manage to catch only 1 around 4kg that day using keng lure (popper). seems there is a lot more inside but don't want to touch our bait, we also tried live bait 'keli'. maybe our method is not right I dont know.Heard that place got stories and not to go alone. But better chances with boat instead of landbase. let u know when we going there again. |
