For a beginner, is it ok if i wanna get a mid range equip to last longer as i wont out grow it too fast? roughly what price range for these equip?i can't seem to find any info on price online in malaysia.

What i read from the internet is bait and lure, bait is fishing with etc roti all that? Lure is jigging n spoon all that have to keep reeling?I not very sure what im talking about actually lol.

Thanks for helping.

budget around RM500 can make it?Any recommendation on equip? Is there any tackle shop in damansara area?

target fish dono yet, normally i only eat fish.

areas should be around pond/ lake or river if possible.

method/technique, from what u said above, luring, jigging and bottom fishing seems interesting.

Thanks guys.

Thanks for the fast reply.

One more question, why don't people just use one thickest rod and reel to do all the fishing, whether small or big fish? why do people need so many setup for different size of fish ?

Anyone tried fishing b4 at the pay pond in damansara perdama?went there during afternoon to scout for around 15 minutes, so many people fishing there but nothing happen at that time. Can i know why most people there using bait but not lure, they cast and left the rod there(is this btm fishing?), hope to c people use jigging, popping and fly.

Guys, i just got my fishing set from my cousin's place, I grab the Ugly Stik Tiger BWC 2201, and the spinning reel Maguro Nova 6000, those are the thinnest and shortest rod that i can find, others are either too damn long almost double my high or too thick like for fishing sharks. Is the reel and rod ok for a start? Is Ugly stik tiger a spinning rod? What i saw from youtube the tiger is orange color, but mine is black. And also ppl use it with cast reel, is it the same? What can i do with this kind of setting?

How to differentiate between casting and spinning rod? His thinnest rod is almost double my height, the ugly stik is the most normal looking rod. Is it weird if i use this to fish in normal pay pond or lake??

The trigger that u mention do u mean the pistol grip handle near the reel seat?i don't really get what u mean sorry. Is ugly stik tiger a salt water tackle? tiger is the thinnest rod that i found in his house, all 1 piece rod. Except for 1 2 piece rod that is slimmer then the tiger, but roughly 4m tall. Here are some pictures i took ytd on the tiger rod, not sure what i take is important info or not. thanks.Attached Image Attached Image

I just remember that the tiger's holes for the line is from big to smallest at the tip, bait casting rod should have same size hole all the way right?i remember i read this info somewhere dono correct or not.

Guys, Thanks for all the answers, appreciate it alot. The fishing sets are typically mine if i ask for it, but then maybe wait for awhile because my cousin just recently pass away. Will i get laugh at if i use this kind of setting for small freshwater fish?Let me try it out at the lake garden in damansara, dono whether allow fishing or not hahaha. Thanks again.
