braid mainline direct to hook seldom use .... gets bitten through easily
usually braid mainline fg-ed to FC leader to hook or to snaplock to hook
works for me whether baiting or luring

QUOTE(rorytate @ Sep 17 2013, 09:41 AM) yeah bro .. wifey's co trip family friendly ... nice amenities QUOTE(1dollar @ Sep 18 2013, 12:30 PM) was this previously known as Kalumpang resort?? kalumpang's a different and separate operation just before this place the river name is Sungai Inki... tahts my regular camp ground. I usually camp down stream before the resort,.. ever since it opened,... the water quality dropped badly. Sometimes the water smells of ammonia. water seemed ok while we were there could be clearer but could be because of the rain over two days QUOTE(SneakyLeaky @ Sep 16 2013, 02:18 PM) paiseh ... i needa ask another question, is it possible to add bait clicker to baitcasting reel? mine doesn't have one, i thought it would sound great with a clicker saw it once on some forum (sorry can't remember which), one of the plates was replaced DIY dat said, i'd go for ticas, abus (revo toro/winch[not sure which]/kalex/6600 series), ryoga .. sorry |

do some reading, bro
you have low profile baitcasters, which is fine for ppl with small hands like me and the round BCs .. again size 50 or 100 fit me jes' fine they have various brake systems: centrifugal, magnetic, dual and almost everything else in between nowadays i started with centri brake and like it better than mag brakes .. haven't tested out higher end mag brakes tho' some believe investing in a better reel helps one learn faster and if you don't like it, you can still sell it off with little depreciation start off with thicker lines be it mono, fluoro or braid ... easier to untangle BUT if you were to religiously follow basic BC training ... you'll encounter little singapore fried mee hoon ABUs: max series, revo sx, stx, etc; C3, C4 (rbc) shimano: caenan, curado ... scorpion prices seem to have begun to go tru the roof; older B versions of the calcutta daiwa: laguna, tierra ... others are too expensive ... distro is nuts, even the lexa which is supposed to be cheap is going for as much as rm500-600+ the Tat is gonna cost more banax: excima, big shoot, etc; starion (rbc) ryobi: aquila, etc there's something for everyone('s pocket) mid-range is best, if can afford get a rod you're comfortable with and try pairing it with the reel you like different makers use different grips throughout their range .... try them out |

QUOTE(1dollar @ Sep 27 2013, 08:39 AM) All, 50/50 bro if what i've read is anything to go by Anyone here owned a golden mean green arrow?need your input or review on how this value for money rod is?a lot of article says its a good buy mainly due to the Fuji SIC guides. Any input would be appreciated. Especially around the sensitivity ian pearl's experience http://www.wat-the-fish.com/showthread.php...jorcraft-Slicer ... he fishes quite exclusively from a yak both kakis down south and ang mohs also say something similar bout the blank goin soft/tip taper http://www.fishingkaki.com/forum/viewtopic...df70dc1e4fe4776 Ian's not the only case i've read and he is one very experienced angler |

QUOTE(1dollar @ Sep 30 2013, 02:00 PM) yup same articles I read, but for its value,.. I wont mind if the rod can serve well more than a year or so with a lot of abuse. high mod blanks ... pros and cons hehehheheI am just looking for reliable high Modulus rods or blanks that can take our abusive vicious fishes like toman and haruans. Not just LMB. Many cases of High Mod blanks dont last with our fish fights. no idea bout the green arrow, bro ... sorry reading those articles ... kinda offputting i'd just as soon buy some of the named rods below and bash the life out of 'em with every trip lemax, xpuyu, relix, kewl (sometimes not cheap either) eh, i'm not sifoo ar ... siput la ... wow ... feels like haven't been in for a few weeks ... lololol
bro viox ... am really sorry to know bout your condition ... get well soon lines ... those JDMs generally fare better but if get defective batch still jialat spiderwire+powerpro (moss green+yellow) > FINS+powerpro (moss green+yellow+bite motion) haven't tried YGK or jerry brown yet the PP bite motion seems to have passed the test on tuesday at fish valley ... last minute 2kg jelawat took the palm fruit ... mainline was joined ... can see the untrimmed edges ... but it held can't really justify the JDM line pricing tho' daiwa samurai, YGK, toray, varivas ... phew one batch of toray 12lb wound up as knot practice line ... kept snapping |
