Have you tried Exotic? Easy catch with a simple bait never fails me. Successes so far Red tail, Sultan, Alligator Gar and the famous Pak Su Kong. I really recommend this place to beginners. PM if you wanna know what bait I use there.

that place very expansive....
either u pay rm50 per hour (jackpot)
or

Ya but to me well worth the money. Was there last night, me and my friend, 3hrs total 9 (my friend) + 5 (myself) = 14 fishes landed in 3hrs and the smallest fish was the sultan fish at 1.7kg. The rest was mostly red tail catfish and pak su kong and all above 2.5kg.

I have tried that Shah Alam place before, my only comment is its crowded (so you can only cast straight and when the guy next to you hook up you most prob have to retrieve your line), fish also quite smart already so told myself that it would be my last time there also.

I would say you get what you pay for, I use to fish in Fish Valley and only on very lucky days you get a bite rate like that. I have been enjoying on an average of 5 fishes per 3hr per trip at Exotic.

I would say you get what you pay in terms of bite rate and service. Which other pond will have assistant come to help net the fish out and unhook it for you. They also will take and deliver any beverage or food order for you.

But I would advise to not pay for jackpot unless you really go prepared because all the jackpot fishes are above 15kg. I play with light line, light rod and 2500 reel only (the heaviest I manage to land with this setup is 7kg patin). Also don't pay for the package where you can take the fish cause you will be limited to fish species and weight (nothing above 1.5kg).

I forgot to mention this and I find it very amusing actually. Do you guys know that the jackpot for Arapaima at Exotic is at 70kg. A fish that size even if I bring my jigging rig there I still would not have the confidence to land the fish. lol

i wanna ask which type of bait that the fish of particular pond prefer ????

bread / pallet / dedak ???
*
commonly used by other anglers is bread & dedak. but dedak seems to be higher demand with the fishes.
however, the dedak is mixed till a dough like consistency. hmm.gif
pellets are hard to obtain here. even i had to ship pellets over from KL. LoL tongue.gif

Good to know that we have other exotic here. Personally, that's my preferred pond nowadays for a quick fix.

But nowadays, I go with a slightly heavier setup, 10-20lbs rod, 30lbs line, so that I can land the fish faster. That also allows me to get my bait into the water faster as well.

If I manage to hit my minimum quota early, I will switch to my light set and play a bit. It was fun trying to land a jackpot size mekong on a 8-14lbs setup. It's a bladdy train...

i guess everyone is having difficulty hooking up fishes, bait aside, i guess it has got to do with luck, i went tru the same frustrating period, 5-10 outings with 0 catch is normal, but by using the same bait and same paypond, i had my good time also, everyone will be looking with their envy eyes, catching the most fishes and the biggest, it just so happens when u're having a dry spell, someone at the paypond is having a good time after so long, and u wonder why lol
bear in mind that in C&R pond, fishes get hooked and released, and they wont feed for at least a week, big size fishes can go without food for 6 months, and in aquarium itself, big fishes are only fed once a week, and that is what is all they need, that is why hooking up big fishes are that much more difficult and fun

i almost give up paypond myself, but then again, where else can i fish? lol.. same story goes for sea fishing, its not easy nowadays, and most of the trip, if not all, kenot cover ur cost with the fishes u bring back. like so many of us here said, fishing itself should be fun, with or without fish, just enjoy the time with nature

havent been to exotic myself, other than jpond, the best hook up rate so far in a paypond is seksyen 24, at least for me, getting 2-3 fishes in 4-5 hours fishing is good enuff for me, get more is a bonus, and those are mega size fishes. and u dont stop learning about bait, i used to bring my own recipe and caught ntg, wondering what they're using and non-stop getting fishes hooked, some other time everyone will come to me and ask for my recipe..its just funny, and that's fishing for you! rclxm9.gif

Well I would seriously ask you to try Exotic. They have so many types of fish there that what you want to catch is what bait you use. For me I used to experiment with lots of types of bedak, bread and pellets in my Fish Valley days, now just one type of bait and sure get fish. By the way seems my catch rate is better than yours in Exotic vs Shah Alam. Ya, I know its way more expansive than Shah Alam but then you get what you pay for right? By the way at Exotic forget about bedak and all unless you are after telapia and normal catfish.

My normal catch. Good size and good fight.

The Gar is bleeding cause he took the whole hook in. Musty have been hungry.

I like the trill of getting a hook up, not really interested in what type of fish I get that is why I go with light equipment so even if small fish the trill is there seeing the rod bent and the reels squelching but then Exotic you rarely get anything small unless you're after telapia.

About sea fishing, have you tried going to indo and mal border? About 2-3 hrs speedboat ride from klang. Jigging and bottom will get you lots of fish there (sorry I do not where it is located cause I forgot to ask the boat man). Only thing is you have to be careful cause the last trip we went we were stop by marine police to check out ID's and then was warn not to drift into Indonesian water cause they will not be able to help us then if we get into any trouble. Lol, fishing with scissors ready to cut out lines if any unknown boats approach (pirates?). Its fun fishing, highly recommended but with real dangers faced like pirates and crossing into another countries borders.

The sultan looks normal la. The one caught was 1.7 but surprisingly gave a good fight for the size. Water there is clean la, no cleaner nor dirtier than Fish Valley pro pond. Please tell me which pay pond with non murky water?

Video of fly fishing in Exotic.

this is a 2011 video

haven been to exotic before but from the statement of other angle the bite rate is going down and the fish is not in good condition
many that manage to land can find trace of fish lice on the body ....

i only use FC leader .

ok back to the bait part at seksyen 24

you can land all type of fish in seksyen 24 using pallet but in the market there alot of pallet type with all kind of names
the only pallet that works better then other is the so call pallet 6363

basically in the market pallet 6363 is divided into 2 category

1) pallet 6363 (white/gray color)
2) pallet 6363 (black/brown color)

pallet 6363 (white/gray color)
-this pallet is make by a company call cargill , this pallet is famous in fish breeding farms
-this pallet is consider more expansive to the black/brown color counterpart
-size of the pallet is slightly bigger then black/brown color counterpart
-smell less stronger then black/brown color counterpart
-harder to find at store because costing price higher

pallet 6363 (black/brown color)
-this is consider standard pallet manufacture by local company call dinding
-size of pallet is smaller , hard to hook
-strong ammonia smell then white/gray color
-the usual pallet that you can find in almost tackler store / aquarium store

so now is how to chose which type of pallet to use at seksyen 24
both pallet can land fish depend on how you prepare the pallet

now abit late already i continue tomorrow , wall of text coming

just share some picture of last sunday trip to seksyen 24
manage to hook on a ranking fish for patin

Live bait like worms will usually out fish any other type of artificial bait. Not sure where to get either. Maybe I should breed some.. hmmm.. earth pot and dead leaves. Sounds easy...
