QUOTE(SneakyLeaky @ Aug 26 2013, 11:21 PM)
ARGHHHHH MAN I AM SO FED UP!!!

okay guys sorry for the impending whining but i really need to talk about this.. fishing experience of mine .. so far...

I have been fishing for like couple of months now. my luck hasn't been the best, earlier on back at my hometown i used to be able to hook a few fishes every now and then, small ones, big ones.

when i get to KL, sh*t started to happen, no matter what pond or sungai or lake or tasik i go to i always 90% of the time come back empty handed. i used worms, bomb or whatever shyt fish powder available in the tackle stores but still i get nothing.

tried all sort of diff ways and mixing diff bait and still nothing. what makes matters worst is that at the same place that i am fishing people are reeling in like nobody's business!!!!!! FKKKK, plus they love using those EFFING LOUD NOISE REELS that QUACKS so loud the whole world knows he has got a bite. nearly wanted to go over and kick him over the pond.

i think i need some guide on what bait to use, every bag of powder with those spcial codes on it 929, 636, 286, 266 and all that shyt means almost nothing to me, coz no matter what i use nothing works....

-----------------------
  Places I Been To
-----------------------

1) Taman Danau Desa Lake (Reserve Lake, No Entry)
this place has been busted open and everyone is fishing there, it is beside Dragon Hut and Desa Waterpark. this lake is used for overflow and drainage from other parts of the area. water is clean in the middle while a little dirty and slimy on right and left sides.

Toman, Black Tilapia, Tam Shui Sek Pan (Tilapia with black and white-green stripes), tiger barbs, marbled goby, crawdads, clams, water snails, Wong Choi San (orange tilapia) and even a Koi was spotted there and also .. damned Bandarayas... chock full of them. nobody seems to be able to get anything there. last i saw was a malay uncle who caught a 5kg toman with fake katak.

2) Paradigm Mall (right side), right behind Shell
not sure what is the name of this pay pond. RM10 for unlimited amount of time, catch and release. can only bring back black tilapia.

Pacu, Black, Red and Striped Tilapia, toman, rohu, patin can be found there. fishes here seems to love pellets more than anything else. tried using 929 and bomb 236 if not mistaken (red colour, packet has eagle head on it) but nothing bites. a annoying middle aged dude fishes there everyday and gets fish every 15minutes without fail, apparently using pellets. those who used pellets seems to be able to get while others can fish for nothing.

3) OUG Pay pond
Rohu, Tilapia, Catfish can be found here. seems to be extremely picky with baits too, mixed pandan with bomb, cricket, bread with strawberry but after 3 visits and still nothing. and as always there will be one annoying uncle with tat screeching reel that keeps reeling in fishes.

4) Sungai Batu
Huge river/lake, polluted as F**K. i rest my case.

5) Semenyih (Beside Fish Village)
Owner feeds both 2 ponds with boiled chicken guts. 2 big pots of withcraft looking ooze, whole pond stinks of spoilt-cooked chicken. Keli and patin found there. caught fish cannot be eaten as they stink of the food they feed on - chicken crap.

the list goes on... there's 2-3 more places i've been to but point is i just cant seem to get anything at all.. i really hope some of the experts here could give some insights and help me out a little here ... so much has been spent on bait, accessories and stuff sad.gif ...

total 3 fishes...
7 bites including 3 hooked up...

er... maybe my mixture is wrong... or something wrong with me today...
but it seems ur saturday plan suits me... so ill join u... together with green bait supplies again...

btw u prefer float bait bottom or float bait top???
and can u define PE1-3 rod??? had to get a proper ones...

my rod is from fish shop and just grab as its pretty when i first bought it like 5 years back... LOL!!!
*
consider not bad

as long as fish bite that mean your bait works

the fishing method is float attaching with bait basket (aka spring) then 2 meter line attaching double hook at bottom
make a loop at middle of the line , from the loop (center) 1 meter to float+ bait basket and 1 meter to hook
snap swivel at main line look at the loop

you can try google eupro giant king Pe1-3 that the rod i bring to fish .

mind telling how you mix your bait ???

part and parcel of fishin', bro
not all the time you'll get
keyword: focus, never give up ... if get nuthin' it's a nice day with nature
if get fish, bonus
try not to get frustrated
my friends like to say 'banyak kali tikam mesti dapat'

even tow foo pond has been known to have its off days ... popular bait become unpopular
laguna takes technique and knowledge .. even then the fish have been known to be quite pressured so they become selective/smart
desa water park high pressure pond
prima sounds marginally better
EAK fish are graduates ... mostly
fish pellet/powder mixture you'll never get round to trying all
everyone has their own secret recipe/ingredients
portion to mix also different
*
for high pressure place , average bait wont work .......

QUOTE(kayent @ Aug 27 2013, 10:51 PM)
bro katsumoto...mind sharing me some pellet mixture tips? hahaa.

i wan try for game at the local pond here. target fish is patin. so far my pellet mixtures quite low bite rate.

nevertheless, do pm me if willing. tq =)
*
i wanna ask which type of bait that the fish of particular pond prefer ????

bread / pallet / dedak ???

QUOTE(kakasnow @ Aug 27 2013, 11:00 PM)
total error on my brain....
ill see how u do it on saturday bro...

1 bag G.B. + 250-300 ml water + 1cm cube bread...

for pallets ill mix with the liquid mixture of G.B. but finished last week...
1 bag pallet + 4 cap liquid G.B. + 150-200 ml water...(works every 5mins after toss out...)

only bottom bait...no float attach...
*
the pallet should work fine

but the dedak + bread abit hard to attract fish

Sad thing is that its been 5 trips in a row i am getting nothing. Its really depressing, so much spent and i get nothing. Man the feeling of despair. Was fishing just now and a guy beside me just came for five minutes using tilapia pellets RM5 per bag and caught one. Seriously? And i am using those so called specialized pellets, easy to hook, big sized, smells great and not even a nibble. SOMEONE SHOOT ME PLEASE
*
lol you think too much , you can go 上香 1st before you go fishing

it make you feel much better laugh.gif

commonly used by other anglers is bread & dedak. but dedak seems to be higher demand with the fishes.
however, the dedak is mixed till a dough like consistency.  hmm.gif
pellets are hard to obtain here. even i had to ship pellets over from KL. LoL  tongue.gif
*
that mean the fish at that pond prefer eat dedak , no use try pallet since bite rate is slow

later tonight i try find you some dedak recipe

QUOTE(slimfox @ Aug 28 2013, 03:31 PM)
Well I would seriously ask you to try Exotic. They have so many types of fish there that what you want to catch is what bait you use. For me I used to experiment with lots of types of bedak, bread and pellets in my Fish Valley days, now just one type of bait and sure get fish. By the way seems my catch rate is better than yours in Exotic vs Shah Alam. Ya, I know its way more expansive than Shah Alam but then you get what you pay for right? By the way at Exotic forget about bedak and all unless you are after telapia and normal catfish.

My normal catch. Good size and good fight.

The Gar is bleeding cause he took the whole hook in. Musty have been hungry.
user posted image

I like the trill of getting a hook up, not really interested in what type of fish I get that is why I go with light equipment so even if small fish the trill is there seeing the rod bent and the reels squelching but then Exotic you rarely get anything small unless you're after telapia.

About sea fishing, have you tried going to indo and mal border? About 2-3 hrs speedboat ride from klang. Jigging and bottom will get you lots of fish there (sorry I do not where it is located cause I forgot to ask the boat man). Only thing is you have to be careful cause the last trip we went we were stop by marine police to check out ID's and then was warn not to drift into Indonesian water cause they will not be able to help us then if we get into any trouble. Lol, fishing with scissors ready to cut out lines if any unknown boats approach (pirates?). Its fun fishing, highly recommended but with real dangers faced like pirates and crossing into another countries borders.
*
haven been to exotic before but from the statement of other angle the bite rate is going down and the fish is not in good condition
many that manage to land can find trace of fish lice on the body ....

QUOTE(kakasnow @ Aug 28 2013, 03:52 PM)
in my experience of hook a patin is 12kg most....
never been with a fight with anything higher then that...
using a 3500 series ajiking wohoo... 30lb braided... cheap palia rod....
*
as long as it work is ok

QUOTE(kakasnow @ Aug 28 2013, 11:14 PM)
do any one of u use any fluorocarbon  leader?? or just straight from braided from reel???
*
i only use FC leader .

ok back to the bait part at seksyen 24

you can land all type of fish in seksyen 24 using pallet but in the market there alot of pallet type with all kind of names
the only pallet that works better then other is the so call pallet 6363

basically in the market pallet 6363 is divided into 2 category

1) pallet 6363 (white/gray color)
2) pallet 6363 (black/brown color)

pallet 6363 (white/gray color)
-this pallet is make by a company call cargill , this pallet is famous in fish breeding farms
-this pallet is consider more expansive to the black/brown color counterpart
-size of the pallet is slightly bigger then black/brown color counterpart
-smell less stronger then black/brown color counterpart
-harder to find at store because costing price higher

pallet 6363 (black/brown color)
-this is consider standard pallet manufacture by local company call dinding
-size of pallet is smaller , hard to hook
-strong ammonia smell then white/gray color
-the usual pallet that you can find in almost tackler store / aquarium store

so now is how to chose which type of pallet to use at seksyen 24
both pallet can land fish depend on how you prepare the pallet

now abit late already i continue tomorrow , wall of text coming

just share some picture of last sunday trip to seksyen 24
manage to hook on a ranking fish for patin

oh so thats the trick....
btw mind showing  how u do ur set up of leader????
btw where u bought ur FC and how much???
*
usually i buy i fishing supply from PJ ss2 fishing fever angler

you can ask other forumer here for other location that near your home
if i m not mistaken you live near SS2 right ???

how i set up the leader is

1) around 2 meter length FC leader divide half using dropper loop

2a) 1 end tie to spring then the other tie to hook (single hook setup)

2b) 1 end tie to spring then the other tie to another line using Albright Special knot
on 2nd line both end you tie a hook , fold the line in half then make the loop for Albright Special knot . double hook setup

3) on the other side of the spring use split ring to connect it with float
