hi, i just bought an NTSC-J 360 about 2 days ago and i'm totally loving it. But i am totally lost on how to configure my network settings. I've been trying to connect using direct modem connection since i have neither the knowledge or the money to invest in expensive extra equipment.

When i've connected my modem to the xbox 360 and tested for xbox live, it says that

a)my connection is wired
b)my ISP is verified/passed
c)my DNS has failed

and that's the problem, i've tried entering the DNS server addresses (both primary and secondary) manually but that doesn't help.

I'm a total newbie to Xbox Live and setting up network connections in general so any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I've just PM'ed PrivateJohn asking for his help. Stringfellow, is the setting ur talking about the PPPoE setting ? Whats that anyway ?

Also another thing i really need to know is, isn't it true that the premium xbox 360 package includes a free trial period for the Xbox live service ? Since every manual/guide in the box is japanese, i have no idea which document is which. How can anyone ( who doesnt know japanese of course) tell which is which ? Thanks again guys. I finally got to connect to Xbox Live today!

Apparently all i needed to do was change my username as told by Kaneshiro21. Thank you all for helping. Hope to see you guys online, i just have Perfect Dark Zero and Call of Duty 2 for now but i'm saving for GRAW when i can find it in stores. Man that game looks good. Thanks again guys!

Oh also, does anyone know if there's any place in KL selling xbox live prepaid cards ?
