Router: Asus RT N56U Firmware Version 3.0.0.4.374.979

Hey guy's I've been having this problem ever since I updated to the latest firmware for my RT N56U. The router doesn't recognise the password I've set to access the webgui page. This happens after I rebooted the router after the first set up. I've tried entering both the default and new password and username but to no avail.
2-3 times factory resets and tried restoring the firmware using recovery mode didn't work either.

Anyone encounter this problem? Is this firmware related and should I move back to the old firmware ? I've cleared the internet cache and it does't work too. Please advise.

Thanksss
minde

Hi minde,

Unfortunately we don't sell any original adapter here, may I know which part of the adapter that is damaged?

Thank you

The head where it gets plugged into the router . Can't use the router now. Is this a standard plug I can get elsewhere ?

hey,

i'm currently using the RT-AC68U router. However, it is not broadcasting 802.11ac Wi-Fi only on 802.11N.

I'm using PCE-AC66 Dual Band PCI-E Adapter.

Is there a setting I need to do?

Hi minde,

Are you able to scan the 5GHz from the RT-AC68U with the PCE-AC66?

5GHz will be running at AC standard.

Thank you

thanks for the response.

yes i can receive 5ghz.. when I check the connection status using command prompt : "netsh wlan show interfaces". it's showing as 802.11n. is this a limitation of windows 10 unable to show ac status?

revert back to previous version and wait for solution from ASUS.

new firmware prevents me to revert to previous firmware. they change some certificate or something.
