Hi @ASUSmy,

According to asus FAQ, AiMesh seem like support Ethernet backhaul connection.
https://www.asus.com/us/support/FAQ/1035140/

My question is :-
Can AiMesh support mixed Wifi-Ethernet backhaul connection?

Please refer to the screenshot below for further understanding:-

Hi @ASUSmy

I experienced slow WiFi (huge drop of speed) on my last aiMesh node which less than 100mbps.
May I know why it is slow? According to the spec of ZenWifi XT8, it come with 5Ghz 4x4 mu-mimo WiFi backhaul. It should not face such slow speed which is not make sense.

Kindly appreciate your support. Thanks ~

Possible to remove your RT-AX3000 and use only 2 units of ZenWiFi XT8?

I suspect the ZenWiFi is not running on their dedicated backhaul.

Yes, can remove but speed will drop as well due to distance issue if using 2 units.
Any other alternative solution?

Hi kc9988,

Can you try updating the firmware to the latest for both the RT-AX3000 and the XT8?

And can you tap on the last node using the APP and check the Connection quality.

May I know around how many blockage between the second and the third node? How many wall or  is there any toilet in between?

Thank you
*
I already updated all the firmware to the latest firmware via asus router app before posted this issue.
Yes, there' some blockages. 1 floor distance between both 8TX node (ground floor & 1st Floor).

Here's my testing result:
RTX-A3000 (main router), (both ZenWiFi XT8 as nodes)
Location: RTX-A3000, XT8 node 1 - 1st floor, XT8 node 2 - Ground floor
Tested Device: Xiaomi Mi 9 (wifi 2x2 mimo)
Result: 100mbps+-

ZenWiFi XT8 (as main router), (another one as node)
Location: XT8 router - 1st floor, XT8 node 2 - Ground floor
Tested device : xiaomi mi9 (wifi 2x2 mimo)
Result: 200~250mbps (WiFi backhaul is functioning?)

Hi @ASUSmy,

I have ZenWifi xt8 routers. I always faced the wifi stability problem in my android phone. I tried to toggle Wifi button OFF and ON in android status bar, it still wont auto connect. I went into WIFI list, and it showed "can't connect this network". So i need to manual click on that particular wifi , then it able to connect.

What's wrong with ASUS router? Many of my android devices faced this problem, the issue just randomly came back again after few days resolved. Only solution for me now is "Manually select wifi from the list"
