Hello guys, i have an RT-N12D1, upgraded firmware to 3.0.0.4.378_9479.

Using the router for my Unifi 30Mbps. Not having major issue with the router but the people in my house are quite IT blind and kept hogging all the bandwidth.

I know each and every device connected to the router, and limit each one to atleast 5Mbps down, 1Mbps up, however, the router suck at limiting bandwidth. I've tried myself limiting my pc to 1Mbps, but my download speed still reached 3MB/s. What to do?

The box says "RT-N12" but the PRODUCT PAGE for RT-N12 is not similar to mine.

The PRODUCT PAGE for RT-N12 D1 is quite similar to mine but the product code extra "D1".

Can I update my firmware from the RT-N12 D1 page to my RT-N12 without any problem? I'm confused which one is mine rclxub.gif
I want to update it to the latest because the latest firmware has a new bandwidth limiter feature.

What can asus router offer the best budget for this situation:

I'm a gamer, needing a constant low ping without any lag/spike and would like to utilize the 5ghz band. Distance from router to pc is like 5 meters divided by a wall.

I searched around the forum and seems like most people have good experience with asus which i agree because i use asus router myself but its been bad lately due to inteference (2.4ghz sucks nowadays). I think i'll just spend a little bit on asus router than some shady reviewed cheap router. Hope some of you can recommend me one.
