QUOTE(blacktubi @ Jul 13 2018, 01:27 AM) Tested to be able to forward Gigabit speed from WAN to LAN. How fast would an AC WiFi link to an AC capable WiFi adapter on this router? It runs the IPQ4018 chipset which is the same as RT-AC58U. There are plenty of reviews for this model. Currently interested on this model so that I can change the TM supplied C1200 and make good use of my connection This post has been edited by chocobo7779: Jul 13 2018, 01:43 AM |

QUOTE(leongsem @ Jul 19 2018, 11:03 AM) Hi asus support Something is interfering with the signal perhaps? I been using RT-AC12000G+ router for 18months. I found I am unable to connect to 2.4G Wifi from 8.30pm to 1AM every nite sometimes I can connect but it will disappear very fast. Do you know what might cause this issue? Try to change the WiFi channel instead, and if possible use a 5GHz band Tip: use WiFi analyzer on Android to see which channels are clear Also, avoid using Auto WiFi channel settings as they are not very good at choosing the correct channel This post has been edited by chocobo7779: Jul 19 2018, 12:33 PM |

QUOTE(leongsem @ Jul 19 2018, 12:35 PM) I use wifi analyzer, the signal for 2.4G can drop until un detecatable. You need a 5Ghz capable device, and choose to connect at the 5Ghz SSID (usually it's your WiFi name with a 5G suffix) How to use 5GHz band? my phone will choose 5G signal when close at router. Thank you. Might want to change the 2.4Ghz WiFi channel too |

QUOTE(wheelhot @ Nov 21 2019, 10:15 AM) Whoa whoa, chill people. Only the device connected to the repeater SSID will have their speeds halved It's 5GHz at 80Mhz, and I called support and they did teamviewer, turns out it has to do with Speedtest with TM as the source only managing maximum at 250-300Mbps, but if you change to Extreme Broadband or ironically WeBe (which is under TM now right?), and you're able to get 500Mbps from those servers. Oddly enough even Maxis only goes around 350 or so. Anyone else can clarify this? Btw, I read that Repeater halves the speed, is it on the unit that the speed is half or the whole network (including those connected to the main unit) that network speed goes to half? |

QUOTE(SilentVampire @ Nov 20 2019, 09:41 PM) You do realize that there is NO way that 2.4GHz can go up to 750Mbps? Honestly, a few users have educated you on it, so I wouldn't waste my time anymore. We can safely assume that it is 5Ghz because it is the only possible way to be able to reach that speed. Don't type things that you have no idea about, and I suggest reading more about networking before replying. It will just make you look dumb if you reply without knowing what you are talking about. Click the link on my signature and read ALL the green text. I have written it for newbies like you. Most router speeds are advertised in such a manner that:1. The rated speeds are the combined speeds of all the two/three wireless bands 2. The speeds are rated in a laboratory condition which is impossible to achieve in real world conditions This post has been edited by chocobo7779: Nov 21 2019, 10:38 AM |

QUOTE(wheelhot @ Nov 20 2019, 12:39 AM) Hello, Which band and what channel width? At such speeds you almost need 80Mhz channel width for that I guess I'll post my question here. I have tried 3 routers (2 DLinks and 1 Asus; latest) and all of the routers doesn't give me 500mbps WiFi speed when I connect to 802.11ac devices such as iPhone XS, 11in iPad Pro, 2016 MacBook Pro and etc. The router in question is Asus AC86U and the best speed I ever get is 270mbps, in the same room and about 1m away from the router. If connect via ethernet, I am able to get 500mbps no problem. Please advise, thanks. |

Anyone knows how to enable NAT acceleration on the AX88U? I can't find it in the router settings even under LAN -> Switch Control This post has been edited by chocobo7779: Nov 24 2019, 12:29 PM |

ASUSmy Currently my RT-AX88U has this issue:
None of my devices will connect to my WiFi network unless I manually set a static IP address to the device. This is my log file: CODE Jan 23 23:19:33 wlceventd: wlceventd_proc_event(427): eth7: Auth xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx, status: 0, reason: d11 RC reserved (0) Jan 23 23:19:33 wlceventd: wlceventd_proc_event(455): eth7: Assoc xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx, status: 0, reason: d11 RC reserved (0) Jan 23 23:20:10 wlceventd: wlceventd_proc_event(392): eth7: Deauth_ind xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx, status: 0, reason: Deauthenticated because sending station is leaving (or has left) IBSS or ESS (3) The problem will go away temporarily if I rebooted the router, but the problem will come back after a few days. Any idea why this happens? blacktubi This post has been edited by chocobo7779: Jan 23 2020, 11:34 PM |

QUOTE(blacktubi @ Jan 24 2020, 01:03 PM) wlceventd is just a WiFi logging, don't bother with that. How do I find this out? Try to check if any of your devices blasting the router with DHCP request. Also I did change the IP address of my router so could it affect the DHCP server of my router? blacktubi This post has been edited by chocobo7779: Jan 26 2020, 09:23 PM |

QUOTE(thomas1983 @ Mar 14 2025, 07:30 PM) Looks like 5GHz radio failed/failing Is it under warranty? Might want to get that repaired under warranty - if no warranty coverage then you may contact someone like Armand666 to repair it. I had a similar issue as yours and he was able to replace the faulty 5GHz radio and the router is working fine to this day |
