Need some help here: -

I bought RT-N12HP at Lazada, received today and after setup, i found that the speed test on PC connected using Lan cable is normal (Ping 15ms, Download 33mbps, Upload 10Mbps).

But to my surprise, WiFi connection tested on multiple android phone has below problem: -
1) Wireless connection unstable, some time disconnected.
2) Range is less then my Tp-Link Archer C1200 (Tm unit), around 50% less.
3) Speed test is inconsistent on multiple android phone. (see attached capture)
this must be a faulty unit unless some one can tell me simple solution to it.

I plan to return the unit to Lazada for full refund on Monday if no solution for it by then.

**Ps.. all setting default, only put in Pppoe setting and WiFi setting.

Really strange results there.

After receiving the unit, you straightaway flashed to the latest firmware right?
Other than tweaking the settings as suggested by someone, there is something simple that you can try.. if you haven't done this, that is - reset the router to factory defaults by pressing the reset button for about 5 seconds (instead of resetting using the GUI), reconfigure and do the tests again.

btw is your wireless on B/G/N mode? If yes change it to N only

TQVM to all for helping,

i have done enough setup, twicking and testing, the result is disappointing and i have concluded the device is faulty.

i have call up Lazada and CS has ask me to return the product with original packing with all item and accessory to them for a full refund.

case closed. smile.gif

sorry to hear that.. so are you gonna buy another unit from a different seller ?

Have you tried a 30/30/30 reset?

I have read about that procedure but am afraid to do it because apparently it is not suitable for all routers and there is a risk of bricking. Do you know if it safe for this model?
*
I don't know for certain but I wouldn't hesitate to do it if all else fails since I have yet to brick a router by doing a 30/30/30 reset so far sweat.gif
What about a normal hard reset, have you tried it?

I would suggest getting 2 RT-AC86U and setup AiMesh.

A mesh solution is much faster and more stable than a wireless repeater solution due to the high performance wireless capabilities of the RT-AC86U.
*
AiMesh won't halve the bandwidth like a normal wireless repeater right?

Hey there, I have an Asus AC87U and has been connected to unifi for the last 2 years everything works fine. When i switched to maxis (unifi suddenly increased their charges to RM209 from 139), I can't get the wireless router to work with Maxis fibre... can anyone please help?

wireless router firmware also updated today...

A little OT but just to let you know, as discussed in the unifi thread, a few subscribers who were on the bonanza pack promo (price increase after 2 years like in your case) managed to retain the RM139 price but only with the basic tv pack. This new package is only offered to bonanza pack subscribers. In the system it is called "unifi 300Mbps - Turbo Super Value (Broadband)"
