Hi there,

I am using a RT-AC58U AC1300 Router.

I've tried so many ways to troubleshoot but all methods have failed so I hope that you guys can end my frustration.

I recently got upgraded to 800 mbps from 100 mbps by Unifi.

However, my speed is always capped at 400 mbps.

I called the Unifi people when they came and test they used their own DLINK router and it hit 800 mbps.

They said all my cables and hardware were already in place and that it was the router setting problem.

Read the forums here and noticed that I had a firmware update, saved my settings, downloaded the firmware and then proceeded to reset factory settings my modem via the RESTORE button under advanced settings.

I then uploaded back the settings I saved.

However, I am still hitting 400 mbps only.

Do you happen to know what is limiting my speed or what am I doing wrongly?

Your advise is much appreciated.

Thank you.

They first tested on my router, they also hit 400 mbps. They were using their laptop

Then they unbox a DLINK router they brought over, brand new and changed to their DLINK router, same laptop, they got 800mbps.

I asked them how much was their router, they said RM180, I said should I buy? They said my ASUS router is way better
as theirs is AC1200 and mine is AC1300 or something of that sort and I should stick with it and figure out the settings inside of my router.

I tried troubleshooting again, I have a MAC laptop.

Next to my router I did a speedtest on WIFI and the results was 415mbps download and 211 mbps upload.

Same as my WIRED DIRECT CABLE desktop.

Could it be a cable issue?

But the technicians said all my cables were CAT 5...

Hmm...

u got this firmware?
RT-AC58U_9.0.0.4_380_8440-g782ed3e
i also used that firmware compatible with ac1300uhp.

cat 5e is min, cat6 is better... all cables.
cat 5 won't do... the unifi guys used same cable or their own cable?

take note there is antivirus, pc windows matters that somehow may prevent full 800.
read some of the threads... this thing has been brought up a thousand times... "why i cannot get 800".
many reasons... test device, antivirus, kind of test, test to which server, cables, etc.
wifi even harder to get.... more questions...

My latest firmware download available is Firmware Version:3.0.0.4.380_8375

Incorrect?
