hello tech guys, i just purchased asus rt-ac68u and ea-n66 for my office use.

Isit recommended that i upgrade the firmware?
is there new firmware available for asus rt-ac68u and ea-n66?

i would want to setup the asus rt-ac68u as the tm unifi router at ground floor of the office and the ea-n66 as the AP for upstairs.

isit recommended to have different SSID for ground floor and upstairs? say ssid "companyGF" and "companyUF"?
isit recommended to have the wifi router rt-ac68u on a diffrent channel say 11 and the AP ea-n66 on another channel say channel 6?

please advise. thank you.

Hi NightShyamalan,

The current newest firmware is Version 3.0.0.4.374.501. It is a Beta firmware but you can still update it.

Putting same or different SSID also can as you can set Connect Automatically in you PC or laptop.

Below link you can have a look when adding an AP.

Thank you

i have successfully configured the router to connect to unifi and have configured multiple ssid using the default out of the box old firmware . everything is ok, but once in a while im gettin disconnected from unifi. when i access the router when suddenly no internet , im getting a page saying that my ip address is changed ....etc....etc... sorry did not manage to capture the screenshot. the quick solution was to turn off the router and turn it back on.

So today, im planning to upgrade the new firmware. Thanks for your support link.

It says at the faq that its recommended to do restore to factory default settings by pressing 5 seconds on the bottom of the wireless router after doing a firmware update. is this to amend the new firmware? also, when i do firmware upgrade, will all my configuration kept? or i have to redo the configurations?

thank you for your assistance.

hi, im currently using RT-N12D1 with latest firmware 3.0.0.4.376_3602. my current setup is im using unifi business fixed ip 20mb. everything works well, when i connect my laptop to interfaces behind the asus router, i get the local lan ip and the internet works well. same if i connect via wireless, i get the lan ip and internet works well. my unifi fixed ip is used to access my asus router from my home.

Now, i have a server at my office. I would like to have my server eth1 interface to be assigned with my unifi fixed ip. i dont want to use the lan ip and NAT. how can i do that? my old office using tm own router, when we plug in a laptop or any device, i will get the unifi fixed ip via dhcp. how can i setup the asus router to do the same. automatically assign my server to get my unifi fixed ip. i dont want my server to initiate any dialing or connection. the asus router should help me connect to unifi and asign the fixed public ip to my server eth1.

please help. thank you.
