hi Asusmy, I just bought an Asus DSL-N12U C1 for office use yesterday and try to setup the Asus DDNS but it keep saying invalid IP. I have an Asus DSL-N55U at home but no problem register an Asus DDNS account. Additional info - my office is using Streamyx 512KB package (old package) while my home is using Streamyx 8MB package. There is a yellow colour remarks saying "The wireless is using a private WAN IP address (192.168.x.x, 10.x.x.x, or 172.16.x.x). The router may under a multi-layer NAT network and DDNS service is not able to work under this environment." but my home router IP also been set at 192.168.1.xx and still can register the Asus DDNS account. Is there any way to solve the problem for the DSL-N12U C1? Any particular settings need to be done? Thanks in advance.

QUOTE(ASUSmy @ Jan 7 2015, 02:50 PM) Hi Cynox, This is because TM are providing you private IP and private IP unable to register for DDNS. You can try ask TM whether they able to provide you a public IP. Thank you Thanks for the info, will follow up with TM then. Btw, I cannot find a place selling DSL-AC68U (stated as RM899 in first page). Is it available in Malaysia or just paper launch coz i also cannot find it at Asus MY web site too. Is Asus BRT-AC828 available or will be available in Malaysia? I have been using Asus router for many years but the normal 4 LAN ports is not enough. 8 ports of the BRT-AC828 will be just nice. https://www.asus.com/Commercial-Networking/BRT-AC828/This post has been edited by Cynox: Jan 19 2017, 05:40 PM

QUOTE(ASUSmy @ Jan 19 2017, 05:52 PM) Hi Cynox, The BRT-AC828 is not available yet, but will be available, estimate within Q1. In the meantime, you can have a look at RT-AC88U which has 8 LAN ports too. Thank you Thanks for the fast reply. Just realise that RT-AC88U also come with 8 ports gigabit LAN ports. Btw, i am currently using Asus DSL-N55U ADSL router on Streamyx. So I can just connect 1 cable from N55U to the WAN port (or one of the 8 LAN ports) of the RT-AC88U and all the devices connected to RT-AC88U will be able to connect to internet. Can you confirm this will work? I think the DHCP function in DSL-N55U will have to be disable so that only 1 router in the network can assign IP address to avoid IP conflict, correct? Btw, how long is the warranty for RT-AC88U? Thank you.

QUOTE(ASUSmy @ Jan 19 2017, 06:25 PM) Hi Cynox, Yes, DSL-N55U LAN to RT-AC88U WAN port. You will need to set your DSL-N55U connection type to Bridge. And use the RT-AC88U to do the dialing. Once the DSL-N55U in Bridge mode, all the IP address will get from RT-AC88U. All ASUS networking device are came with 3 years warranty. Thank you ok. Din know DSL-N55U can be set to bridge mode.

hi, ASUSmy, is it possible to RMA directly with Asus Malaysia or must go thru the online retailer that sell me the product? I just found out that half of my Asus RT-AC88U's gigabit LAN ports are spoilt. Out of the 8 LAN ports, only 4 working right now. At first i thought is cable problem but after many trial and error with different LAN cable and tried different LAN ports only confirm this problem. I bought the router through a seller here in Lowyet.net garage around Jan 2017. Since the router comes with 3 years warranty, it should still covered by warranty. I think the seller did not issue me a invoice/bill that time. I have PM the seller about this RMA but while waiting for her to reply, just want to find out whether direct RMA with Asus Malaysia is possible or not. I assume it would be faster to go directly back to Asus Malaysia. Thank you.

QUOTE(ASUSmy @ Aug 5 2019, 02:58 PM) Hi Cynox, Can you PM me your serial number for checking? This is because router only have local warranty. Thank you hi, ASUSmy, thank you so much for the assistance and kudos to Asus Malaysia for replacing my faulty Asus RT-AC88U with a brand new sealed unit within 2 weeks after I sent in the unit at one of the service centre.

hi, all, need some possible solution from all the shifu here. I just got my Asus RT-BE88U today, upgrading from RT-AX82U. Tried setting up the Unifi connection in new router as usual which should be a breeze as it is my third or fourth Asus router but it end up taking me 2 hours to troubleshoot. Eventually found out must setup IPTV properly at LAN section by selecting Unifi Home (LAN4 selected as default and cannot modify). Else the PPPoe seems cannot connect, thus no internet access. Is there any way to disable IPTV and still able to keep the Unifi connection alive? Once I disable the IPTV now, internet will be down. As LAN 1-4 is 2.5G, reserve LAN4 for IPTV will be a big waste for me. Or it actually doesn't matter, I can still use LAN4 to connect to a desktop as usual? thanks in advance.for any solution. QUOTE(blacktubi @ Sep 22 2024, 11:13 PM) Click LAN on left side of the web setting page Then, click IPTV on top Finally, Choose Unifi-Business profile, this will give you all LAN ports without Unifi TV reservation The RT-BE88U 5GHz coverage and performance is just amazing even on older WiFi devices thanks for the fast reply. So basically just change from Unifi-Home to Unifi-Business? I will try now on my RT-AX82U first. Too late to setup the new router for today, leave it for tomorrow or until next Saturday. Plug back the existing AX82U at the moment. This post has been edited by Cynox: Sep 22 2024, 11:23 PM

hi, sir/madam, As previously posted i just got the Asus RT-BE88U, and added few old devices as AiMesh nodes to it, namely RT-AX82U, RT-AX3000 and 2 x ZenWiFi AX Mini. Is there a way to manually fix the IP of these AiMesh Nodes? I try to google but seems like there is no way to do that. Just hope to get a confirmation here so that i can sleep at ease at night. Thank you.

QUOTE(ASUSmy @ Oct 21 2024, 01:39 PM) Hi Cynox, You may refer to the guide below to fix the IP address for the node. Reboot the node after fixing the IP address. https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1000906/Thank you hi, boss, thanks for the guide but i already using that method. The issue is the ip/name of the nodes will not appear in the drop down list in Step 6, so I cannot choose the node from the dropdown list to fix the IP.

QUOTE(ASUSmy @ Oct 23 2024, 04:32 PM) Hi Cynox, You will need to manually key in the MAC address of the node. You can get the MAC address from sticker at the bottom of the router or from the Network tab at the node in the AiMesh Topology. Copy the Ethernet MAC address from FRONTHAUL INFORMATION. Thank you hi, boss, din know we can do that. Will try later after work. Thank you so much.
